I'll just add that although I'm a strong lefty, I find continental impossibly awkward and slow despite hours of practise. I don't think lefty = continental is true any more than righty = throwing. Maybe you could let your students try both ways and see which they prefer?

and the picture of your doggie and the bear are breathtaking.
no. really. i'm sitting here at my office and when i got to the picture of them i actually gasped. out loud.
then said "awwwwww!!!"
and i NEVER do that.
