I think you offering your beautiful patterns free is wonderful. There will probably come a time when you will sell them and then we'll all buy them! I hope your knitting related merch helps defray your costs. I gave a knitting goddess magnet to everyone in my knitting class and they just loved them. Now I feel OK that I've printed out your almost gloves pattern. I've made one pair as a Christmas gift for my son's girlfriend and my daughter and I will each knit a pair as a way to share tiem when she is home from college for winter break. She may find them perfect for Ireland where she will be travelling in January. Love your site, Marnie.

Marnie? I couldn't agree with you more about stretch buses (which is what I call any automobile/truck/suv that is too long), especially Hummothingies. Just disgusting! I love your chipper smile though!

I think it's great that you have so much to offer everyone, and are willing to do so. You've made a place for yourself in the community and I know we'd all miss you if you ever went away.

Hello - As a relatively new knitter from Regina, SK, Canada, I just wanted to say that I'm really glad I found your website, and have it bookmarked. Your designs are so interesting, and I like reading your blog from time to time.
I just wanted to say: hello: and keep up the good work!

Oh my, Marnie - what are you doing wearing a WINTER coat in LA? Is it...winter...there?

Marnie,
your creativity is awesome. I still say you should be selling your patterns or working towards a book of your designs. There are so many patterns out now that are no where near the expertise or quality you are creating. You deserve more recognition.
cheers

Marnie, your patterns are a gift, whether or not they are free. Thank you. I think by keeping them free, you generate a sense of community and kindness amongst knitters. I also appreciate your charming commercial products--I am giving two bags as holiday gifts.
I would love to see a book by you in the near future!

For what it's worth, I'd definitely buy a book of your designs. But only if it had pictures of Panda here and there. OK, even if it didn't. Yours is one of the first set of patterns I found when I started knitting and they really inspired me. I do like that they're free, but I would buy them, too.
