Actually, the thin parts probably have *more* twist than the thick parts. Twist tends to accumulate in the thin spots. If the thin spots are very thin, the yarn may be brittle there though.
Recommendation: If a strand breaks when you're plying, just learn what you can about where it broke, and why, and tie it back together and go on. You're learning. Everything is useful to know at this point!

Hey Marnie! Keep at it! It's already looking better! I had major coordination problems with spindling too -- one hand trying to spin and draft at the same time, the spindle would end up reversing direction, untwisting the yarn and causing the strand to break -- all the time! Looking forward to seeing more!

Wow! You go, girl, with that spinning! I'm impressed..I tried spinning a few months ago and just didn't have the patience to keep it up. I need to go back and try again, though.

Hey that looks pretty good for the 2nd try! Try Andean plying your singles together- I think you'll be surprised at how easy it is. Good work and welcome to the spinning world!
