Talk Back!

Gravatar Ohhhh. Soy Silk and Cashmere! I'm salivating

Gravatar DUDE. it all looks amazing. And beautiful roving looks so edible to me. I am also impressed with your skills ... mine still looks wonky. But I'm having fun!

Gravatar I was shocked when I plied my first small skein in my class last week and it balanced. My second skein was a little unbalanced, though. I DO want a wheel, its just a matter of the money to buy one. Soon I hope. Soon.

Gravatar Oooh. I love how "our" roving spins up - it's gorgeous. Wait until you see the colorways I bought for myself - heart's content and cherries - they are yummy. Is the merino/silk tougher to work with? You seem to be handling it with skill!

Gravatar I love the way you've spun the Vineyard roving. I thought the unspun product was beautiful, but the yarn looks even lovelier. Knitting it up with a solid contrast yarn of any of the shades you really like should result in a fantastic look. Just don't get me going on how beautiful the colors are in the roving Julia sent you. They are spectacular.

Gravatar You do have a knack for spinning, from worsted to fingering. I still haven't gotten the hang of spinning multicolored fiber without making it look tweedy. Maybe I need lessons from you!

Anyway, I see you're using a Kundert. Do you like it? I was thinking of getting another (lighter weight) one for myself...

Gravatar Beautiful, beautiful. All of it!

Gravatar I love what plying does to multicolored singles. It's so much fun to play with. If you want to start playing with plying, I suggest "Spinning Designer Yarns" by Diane Varney. The "Color in Spinning" book by Interweave is amazing, too. Just a little more to, you know, feed the habit.

That roving that Julia got you is beautiful. It just looks delicious!

And about getting a wheel...Leo and Panda better watch out...You'll end up with so much yarn and so much roving, since you are more prolific with a wheel. Not a bad thing...for us ;-D
(And really, the only reason I'm getting a wheel (ahem, can afford a wheel) is because I work for WEBS aka yarn.com and get a discount...otherwise, it'd be me and my drop spindle for many more years)

Keep up the amazing work! Can't wait to see what your work looks like knit up!

Gravatar Hey Marnie! It's Janel... I finally got the Chameleon Colorworks website going so you can see the other colors....
