Brannon's response mirrored my own almost exactly, and so, a good bit ticked, I contacted a "higher-up" regarding the Minto situation. In a nutshell, there is apparently a good bit more to this firing than meets the eye. That in no way is meant to be construed negatively toward Marty Minto; this individual with whom I spoke indicated that Marty is a fine Christian gentleman. But I asked him point-blank, "was Marty let go because of more than what was reported in the newspaper account?" Secondly, I asked, "would entertaining the question of the pope's eternal destiny ALONE have been enough to fire him?"
The answer to the first question was, "yes, there were other issues..." The answer to the second was that the firing was not because of his stance on the pope's salvation."
I was ready to blog Christian radio right into purgatory over this...but I'm a lot more reticent to do so now, after this exchange. There are plenty of questions left to be answered, but I am satisfied that there was truly "more than meets the eye" in the firing of Marty Minto.

Hello, I got here from La Shawn's. Nice place you got here, Im gonna go put you on my blogroll. I purposely stayed away from any Pope stuff, just because the man is unimportant to me. I think until Catholics do away with some of their heretical stuff, we should keep them at arms length. Not a whole lot different than Mormons and JWs as far as Biblical interpretation goes!
