I can't play and sing either, have a contralto voice too (the songs are all either too high or too low for me) AND, I am a pianist, so I play keyboard like I play the piano, which is so totally wrong... I don't know how to play it otherwise!! It amazes me how my brother can not only play harmony/accompaniment, but actually sing the melody at the same time. To think I always thought it was the girls who are supposed to be great multi-taskers!
Irene - I always thought playing keyboard was the lazy job. All I do is follow the guitar chords and put in an occasional harmony! Much easier than piano-bashing out the tune, and you don't end up with bleeding nails from being over-enthusiastic on the left-hand notes...
Glad to have found a musical kindred-spirit!
