I've had no problems since switching from Blogger to LwC (Life with Christ.org)... they're a bit slow, but so is blogger. the only thing that bugs me about LwC is that there aren't many template options... I'm hoping to get someone to do a blog redesign for me, or do it myself somehow, soon... let's see...
I think the coolest thing about LwC is that it automatically emails you whenever someone comments on something you've written!
I would like to host my blog on my own domain someday, but for now, LwC is "home" for me!

I think a lot of people are having good luck with Typepad (http://www.typepad.com). The Basic package starts at $4.95/month US$, and they save you almost $10 US if you sign up for a whole year.
I haven't used it myself, but it sounds pretty good...it's the subscription version of the Movable Type blogging software, which I run on my site (and am very happy with).

If you are a little technically minded and feel like getting your own Domain. You can get free hosting for three years form oneandone.com. It's a special promotion that they have until january when they officially go online. I am using them and they have been great so far. The specs for the account are really good as well. They register domains for $5.99 american. So I have 3 years hosting and a domain for 5.99 a year... that's it! If you don't need a domain it's totally free and you don't even need a credit card!
Moveable type is a free download too so you don't need to pay for that either. It's a bit crazy to set up, but once you have it working it's good. If you go to google and type "blogger exodus" You'll be certain to find someone who can help you make the switch to MT. I was helped by the guy who runs http://www.deanesmay.com. HE was very helpful in the whole MT setup which was kind of scary for a Newb like me.
Hope that helps. If you email I can

typepad is good if you don't want to play with your HTML... even the pro setting doesn't give you absolute control the way the free blogger does. One and one's templates are totally 80's, but it does have front page support.
Other then that, I'm currently seeking an option that gives me free reign over the HTML, looking into downlowading movable type and then hosting it on bloggedup.com. Their hosting starts at $15 (american)/year.
Still looking for something like typepad that gives me html... I love the commenting and trackback that moveable type gives (typepad is based on moveable type)...

I reckon use typepad pro for the free month - get yourself set up and looking how you want - then go back to basic at $4.95. It'll do the job and look pretty good

Thanks everyone for your input! Being the nice person I am, I'll give blogger a little more time to sort itself out, but am examining all the options. Appreciate your advice immensely.
