Gravatar Excellent questions, I think far too many churches hide what they're really doing. This is especially true is "outreach" events where people are "served" or "ministered to", but really for an agenda.


Gravatar There probably needs to be a balance between the two extremes. It is most certainly God who changes their heart. But, the Church is responsible for "teaching them all that [Christ] has commanded."

Many people today have worldviews that are too influenced by current culture and philosophy to come to an adequate undertanding of the Word. Perhaps we ought to play a role in helping them to make a transition to a basically Biblical worldview.

That doesn't mean we have to indoctrinate them with every detail of our denomination but it would probably mean going further than "here's the gospel, here's a Bible, what does it mean to you?"
