Christmas has always been more of a season than just one day for me because of the way we celebrate Advent in Catholicism. The four Sundays before Christmas are the four Sundays of Advent, and the daily scripture readings during this time all lead up to the coming of Jesus that we celebrate at church on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

Advent candles are nice too - I know my kids really get into the Advent wreath and lighting the candles.
