I too like punctuation marks during the day, though I must admit, I've never thought of them that way before. I don't have an office, just two desks, a filing cabinet and a bookcase in one corner of a communal office. Makes for a busy work environment! the commas and stops during the day are great. But it's the exclamation marks that worry me!!!

John, I guess you have to take those punctuation marks as a "full stop" - stop what you're doing and rest - or they become just one long sentance. I've had a couple of exclamation marks today - I can relate!

Hmm, good thoughts. As a college student, I'm badly in the habit of overworking myself and needing to be busy all the time. It gets to the point where even when I take a few minutes of quiet, they aren't quiet, because my mind won't stop racing. I appreciate what you said about looking for calm. It's something to seek, not automatic.

Quasi, ESPECIALLY as a student, it's essential to find those quiet calm times. I know how hard it can be to stop your mind, and I struggle with that too, but once you learn how it's really worth it. Weekly, my Sabbath is a complete full stop, and that does wonders for my coping with the following week.
