It would be nice if it were easier. We haven't encountered so much of it here in NC but I have heard that in places like California, Texas and Florida that the illegals there are getting "welfare" from the government without paying into the system and it has become a huge tax burden. Here too, we are concerned about terrorists coming across the borders.
I am someone who is for immigration as a general rule, though. I think that immigration has made my country a great place to live. The diversity of cultures and traditions is a wonderful thing. It makes things really interesting.
Perhaps if these people weren't illegal, they'd be paying into the system that's supporting them...
We've got 47 different countries represented here on campus - it makes for a wonderful diverse mix.
