Ahh I remember that stretch before the last traffic light into the office during power-failures or road maintenance.
This morning's trip I think takes the cake: road works under the Koeberg interchange this weekend which should have been finished by this morning wasn't - only M5 lane open on N1 until maybe around 7:30am when they opened up one lane. I turned off early (N7) and headed off to town via N2 - pretty much the same amount of traffic - took me 90 mins to do a usually 25 min trip in the mornings.
On the topic of carpooling, I think more people would do it if they were also allowed to use the BMT lane into town - although a lot of people are illegally using it and it ticks me off, but at least I know they're being monitored and fined accordingly.
