Gravatar Eish, sorry man, that sucks I really hope they catch the bastards

Gravatar Sorry to hear this Michelle. I must admit that I still rely on wired Internet from the old monolith. The growing wireless market has always seemed just a bit too like the old wild west to me; and seeing that things like this go on, bears out that feeling.

Gravatar Thanks Marc - let's hope so!

Steve - there are those who play by the book and those who don't. We've found so many of the latter in the local market that we've started offering ADSL services too.. We've kept our wireless network strong, legal and perfect, it just means fending off stray bullets from the dodgy element now and then.

Gravatar Sorry to hear about the crap you have to put up with hope they catch the buggers!

Gravatar What a bummer! Keep on fighting...

Gravatar Thanks guys. We're on to repairs today - and will only know once everything's reconnected if there was any electronic damage... holding thumbs not, as that's the REALLY expensive stuff.

Gravatar I'm sorry for your loss, have you considered pressure switches and a webcam or two? Most providers eventually put a video camera, which activates on movement inside the case. In your case placing one to strategically watch the base of the tower would be helpful as well.

Gravatar On Saturday morning Michelle's mind was probably turning more towards trip wires and claymore mines.

Gravatar If it wasn't for the magnetic field of electricity affecting the signal and sensitive low-voltage electronics inside hooking the whole base station to an HV line might help deter would-be vandals

Oh, well, in a perfect world. CCTV might be an option, though it'd probably be stolen too!
