As a dude who coined the term "Scion-Hop" at Soulstrut, I give this one a thumbs up.
As a dude who's played at Scion sponsored parties, I give this one a thumgs up as well.
As a dude who enjoys some of this Scion-Hop shit, I give it a thumbs up as well.
I hate Mos Def and I want to shit down his neck.

you complain about all this music and then say you listen to the nonprophets. sage is dope, but how the hell is he any less scion from, say, Murs?

I wouldn't necessarily say murs is scion but I guess you can say as a whole the living legends get lumped into that shit. The reason being is because they tend to be some introductory underground/indie rap shit that kids seem to jump on. After people get tired of hearing them press the same buttons on their asr10 they generally move on to something else.
not to say that Sage doesn't have his fair share of cluess fans but sage fans don't tend to be champions of "real hiphop" bullshit. Sage's fans just tend to be dumb to all hiphop while Legend's fans are dumb when it comes to anything that doesn't fall into their definition of real hiphop.
in general you can use heiro shirts as a gauge for scioness. you'll see more of those at a legends show than a sage show. Although at a sage show you might see dudes wearing women's pants.

Nice words on this. Sage is fucking weak. I ended up at a show of his once and all I remember is being encircled by a bunch of lankey, zit-faced, prepubecent fucks bobbing their heads. All this shit needs to go, and when it leaves, take those itunes mixtapes with it.

gotta disagree here...
case in point. cousinfuck texas... the only kid bringing ANY kind of hip hop into his area was a record store owner... he was droppin shows with bboy battles... the whole nine... but he couldnt afford to bring in any talent for his headz... so he called up scions marketing team. he put up a poster, passed out some wristbands and for that, they helped him afford to fly out El_P...
Who else is gonna do that these days? I think its the most HONEST support of hip hop to date...
not like adidas who wouldnt sponsor the rundmc show last year... run dmc made that shit... and then they fucked em... pffft...

corporate sponsors "honestly" supporting Hip-Hop is like the U.S. government claiming a "limited nuclear exchange" is doable...Advertising only exists to get you to BUY..."support" is only a means to an end...It's no secret that as Hip-Hop culture has increased in popularity it has DECREASED in vitality. Advertising and the money it generates has made sellouts of the best of us...The "Underground" has been reduced to being a stepping stone to a billboard ad and a TV sitcom.

somebody emailed me this bullshit this morning. i work on the scion campaign and as a matter of fact i made that motherfucking wristband, no joke. the fact is that Scion could be spending their money to put some wack ass mainstream rapper in a goddamn commercial or on a billboard. but instead, they're giving money to true heads that helped build (and are still building) the rap game that all you motherfucking haters live off of, and allowing for people all over the country to witness DJ's and performances that they otherwise would never have been able to see. i don't call that exploitation, i call that giving back.
plus, we're on some real underground shit and you'll see that with the release of Scion CD sampler #11 where we feature all types of music from true underground rappers and producers that motherfuckers have never heard of, but sound just as good, if not better, than the bullshit backpack rappers that the asshole who started this thread has up on his page (many of whom Scion is sponsoring to play around the country at shows that i'm sure this dude is on his knees at the front row of anyways)
we out here hustling and giving back to the hip hop community, and you haters are on the internet bitching and moaning probably because nobody gives a fuck about your bullshit wanna-be sage francis raps and shit (check dudes photo who sttarted this thread, cmon dude, get your own fucking style)
so to all you Scion haters, get out of the fucking chat rooms and really try and make your own mark in this hip hop shit
peace

You made the fucking wristband? Wow, way to make your fucking mark in life you fucking piece of shit. Fucking retarded ass cheesedicks such as yourself are the only people who think wristbands are cool.
"we're on some real underground shit"
please bitch, yeah haul and fucking mason, that's real underground, way to keep it real you fucking bitches. Now I've said before that I'm not hating on anyone for taking scion money. Yes I have been to scion sponsored shows and do I give a fuck? No but I'll be damned if some dumbfuck overhyped streetteam piece of shit is going to tell me scion is some real shit. Maybe if you stopped sucking scion's dick you'd realize your little hiphop fantasy was a bunch fucking bullshit.
I've seen your shit magazines and cds at shows but if you think your presence makes you some legitimate part of hiphop your fucking wrong bitch. You're not hustling for shit you dumbass, all your doing is throwing money at promoters and artists to promote a fucking company. Scion measures their success by their sales goes up not whether or not your fucking wristband is a hot item in b-boy circles across america.
"i don't call that exploitation, i call that giving back."
Hey idiot, it's not called giving back when hiphop hasn't done shit for you. It's called buying your way into a community. Buying a fucking image. Toyota doesn't give a fuck about hiphop, all it cares about is presenting some bullshit image to make some money off a bunch of dumbasses who think wristbands are cool. It's called marketing.
In case you're too stupid to figure shit out my whole stance on this shit is that I prefer for hiphop to pimp scion, not for scion to pimp hiphop. Although apparently some people are just to fucking soft to figure that out.
oh and scionboy just so you know I don't give a fuck about rapping. As for my picture sorry to let you down but that wasn't my "style." it's just some shit I wear when I get drunk and do karaoke.
