Slightly off-topic, although I understand readers of protein wisdom are fascinated with semantics, during the campaign you assured me the President would be withdrawing American soldiers from Afghanistan within twelve to eighteen months. Given the recent plans to increase troops in Afghanistan, should I be expecting an apology?
I won't hold my breath.
If you recall that was also somewhat conditional. I also half wish to be wrong; we should not withdraw, however, there are plent of standard Democratic influences on military operations that potentially will make any continuation not matter. Among these are shifing mission priorities to Force Protection and softening the ROE.
We'll just have to wait and see.
