It's been a loong time since we last saw each other in Pittsfield at the first Deanfest.

I know how much loving care and support you have given your father, and your family, the past year or so. Dads are special people. But you know what? They never leave you - ever. I feel the presence of mine all the time, and I look to him still for guidance from above.

May your sorrow be short, and soon be replaced by loving thoughts and memories.

Maura, I'm so sorry to learn your dad died. But it is such a blessing for both of you that you were able to take care of him the last couple of years.
Let me know if you can make it up to southern Vermont sometime and we can get people together for lunch in Brattleboro or something.

I've been thinking of you, as you've coped so bravely with the ill health of your parents over the last year, and put on hold some of your passionate involvement in bettering our government to do so.

Was it your father who had the many, many siblings? He sounded like the salt of the Irish earth, and you take right after him. I'm so sorry to hear that you've lost your 'hero.'
