GAD, Excellent Post as usual....I haven't kept as close an eye on the conference as I should have. I did hear Bush's speech. I thought he projected well. and Got the support for Missle defense. ....stay well....

Great post SA; the conference was long over due in my view. Equally important, while the US is focusing on Europe, China is engaged in its most massive naval buildup since 1949. It makes me wonder if we aren't asleep at the wheel, or if we simply are incapable of doing more than one thing at a time . . .

It was a big diplomatic event for George W. Bush. Despite some progress, the US and Old Europe disagreed on Russia.

It remains to be seen how the next administration in Russia will act.

I understand that some conservatives prefer small and smart intergovernmental conferences. NATO is expanding, and more issues are discussed.

As to China, the most controversial issue is Tibet and the Olympic. I do not think it appropriate that China host the Olympic.
