I dunno... it was pretty painful for me, especially the clumsily emotionally manipulative bits. I say he struck gold with Shaolin Soccer but shouldn't try to do drama until he learns more from the greats.

i grew up watching his movies. even though i liked this one, i kinda thought that the ending was a bit cheesy. maybe he should've just stuck with the original ending and let the character die. that would've been something new for him. the spoofs were funny, but it was a bit over for me. just a select few would've been nice. but all the same, as long as it's stephen chow, i'll keep going to the cinemas for him ^^
