Specter said today: "The Republican Party has moved too far to the right..."
That statement alone spells either moonbat or pyschotic.
Is there a conservative alive that feels the Republican party is further right today than it was even 4 years ago?

Specter was never a conservative, so, it's no surprise he would feel uncomfortable in a party based on conservative ideas.

They should have pushed him out of the party years ago...and pushed him down the stairs too.

I've heard (mainly from reporters asking questions) that Republicans should be very concerned at the defection of Arlen Specter, that it indicates the GOP has become too small and insular. To me, I see it as a simple and natural realignment. If Republicans want to win elections, they have to be offering something different from Democrats. Specter's lackluster ratings from both the ACU an the ACLU tell me that he's too lukewarm to be much use for either party. I suspect he will vote more in line with Democrats now, having freed himself from the shackles of Republitude.
