Hey babe,
It's my first time reading ur blog through the link that you've posted up on facebook (together with your blogshop). I've absolutely no ill-intentions but i do have some thoughts, positive or negative you judge. After reading this particular entry dated 24th September, I thought I should voice it out.
By making your blog link public, you should be prepared for the sarcasms and criticisms you receive. Do note that you are posting your quote and unquote, personal life up on this medium and by doing so you are subjecting yourself to all sorts of judgments and scrutiny.
No matter how you complain, how you lament, how mean those anonymous people are, the comments WON'T stop. Sadly, the more pleasures and kick they will derive from seeing your frustrated and exasperated responses. That's how human nature works. But most importantly you must take them with a pinch of salt and learn how to deal with it! I bet popular bloggers like Xiaxue do receive more than a thousand and one hate mails. :P
Guess that's the price you have to pay by attempting to rise to fame by utilizing such a popular medium. And I thought there is some uncanny resemblance of your blog to Tammy's from OSF. :P Just a suggestion, perhaps you should start crafting out your niche selling point?
Just a word of caution after reading the whole chunk of words ranting about the conformity of being a teacher/teacher-to-be. Of cos, I do agree with you that everyone should have their rights to live in ways they wish to. On the flipside, we are still bound by the rules and rigidities of the society. There are still norms and obligations we have to conform to, especially entering into the teaching profession, it is even more so important to keep yourself in check - both in speech and behavior. Well you surely do know that some parents are very anal about the influences their children are getting from the teachers/schools.
And to the point which you said 'teachers are the best actors you can find'. Yes it is true, but they don't spill every aspect of their life on their blogs too right? I do not come across teachers blogs whereby they explicitly write and post, clubbing and smoking entries. That's why they do it secretly no? Far away from the knowledge of students, parents and the social media.
It's the message your wanna portray to your audiences. This still boils down the social norms we have in society. There still persists a strong stereotypes/perceptions we have on teachers. The general public might not know what teachers do behind their professions and that should be the way.
That's why I thought I should remind you, do not underestimate the power of your audience and this social media. You won't know who are reading your blog and how THEY will come to affect your chances in life. Say, you might stop blogging after your studies but certain perceptions of you will stay, be it positive or negative. There are ways and means to dig your past o
Shenny: WOW~~ A very long comment indeed (gives me a GP essay feeling hehe)........... yes sure i do know teachers shouldnt be clubbing & all sorts of things but thing is, i seldom club now. Maybe once a month, or even once in 2months! Its just that, i am only 19 now? And i pretty am still leading how young adults' life should be.... And btw, I DONT SMOKE. So plz dont get any wrong impression of me.
And btw, i dont see any resemblance between mine blog and tammy's blog! Her's so great! Luv reading her blog :D And about you saying me attempting to rise to fame via my blogshop is totally untrue? Actually i dont give a damn how many hits i get a day although i get quite a number already, but i actually blog so that it will be a good medium for me to browse back on what i wrote, what i did, how i was thinking back then. That feeling excites me. I am constantly thinking how it would be like 50years down the road, and then for the first time, logging back to this space and reading up those entries with those comments, so thrilling.
And anyway, i am still very unsure if i would want to settle down to be in a teaching profession (at least for now), but i certainly do enjoy what i am learning in school now, enjoying the company of the students, marking& more markings, listening to all the grumbles of the teachers.......... So maybe i will just stick to this route after all. I just feel that is abit tooooooo extreme to judge how good/bad someone is just by reading his/her blog.... i doubt anyone (including me) would really write out every single details here up on the net because i agree that you can never know who is reading it.. But afterall, its up to one's thinking and judgement that I can never ever control so.... I wont let them affect me anymore
