social consciousness + fully clothed young women + color blocked collared shirts + intricate, bouncy choreography + black women who look like black women + hair cuts informed by urban culture (v. the other way around) = the early 90s i will always love and appreciate.

this is another new one, for me. they seem so mature and serious. maybe that's just because no one wants to grow up and take responsibility anymore - not for their content or aesthetic.
