Suggestions to the Superintendent

Testy students?

That's assuming that your students would actually put in the effort of sorting through your blog....oh...wait...I guess that's me.

I came here to at least crack into the psyche of my nutty professor...and I was hoping to find juicy tidbits about opinions of my fellow grad students and I.

Alas, I found nothing but juicy tidbits about model railroading.

Still interesting. Still juicy....but nothing incriminating.

Damn.

I'm sorry if you interpreted the first post as a putdown of my students. My gripe is with the common schools that failed to prepare them for "are not ... why not?"

The example stands up in practice, your friend's website notwithstanding. And it is consistent with "The Division of Labour is Limited by the Extent of the Market."

Stephen:

I will grant you that I discovered you on one of my grumpier days and am glad you would still be willing to drink Sprecher with me under any circumstances. I will also concede that a conditional question might have made the situation worse.

However, the proper thing to do would have been drop the question. I'm not going to get into the theory because it's not my class, but I do know that your Wal-Mart example doesn't work in practice. And, seriously, insulting your students on your blog just seems like a recipe for some pretty testy students down the road.
