Sir, I have started reading this series. Well, what can I say, I am impressed! I shall read each one, and comment accordingly. Havn't read a good travelogue in ages! Just one tiny detail - you CAN shoot an airliner from the G3, but only if it was flying really-really low. As in 3 stories low.

You have good observation about Punjab Police, But that was "elite task force" not regular Punjab police, elite force was established i guess 8-9 years ago to overcome terrorism, and all men in elite force obtained special training and equipment that regular police doesn't have it.
And about like they were polite to locals is due to elite force is based on graduates, now also new highway police in pakistan is also very respected due to level of professionalism.

Nankana Sahib has been designated as a separate district by the Punjab government and the town is also now officially known as Nankana Sahib.
Panja Sahib is indeed at Hassan Abdal, as I have indicated by mentioning within brackets.
You are right that the elite task force is very well equipped and trained.
However, I was impressed by the fitness levels of even the regular police, which definitely seemed better than Punjab Police on the Indian side! :D
