I am a bit realistic/pessimistic in this. We are going to go no where as long as organized religion exists. I am not against the concept of god, however organized religion will continue to be detrimental to any effort to eliminate communalism. even coming from a liberal family as i am, i still remember my parents saying, "u can marry anyone, from caste, any social class but stick to our religion"... even though my parents dont have any prejudice against other religion there seems to be some intangible un-comfort zone when it comes to religion... so...
