A very poignant and objectively written piece. Ida laggda ke Zakhmi saab nu milna paina..
Keep it up.

Gravatar Thanks! I'm sure he'll also be happy to see you.

Gravatar For the first few paragraphs I thought you were talking about a young lad! How come no pictures this time?

Gravatar I sought to emphasise the point that our canine friends are just as special to us, as our human friends.

To be honest, I did not post a photograph, because I've become a wee bit superstitious after the death of little Tinkoo.

Gravatar so another canine?? bhai band of tinkoo??

I love the tale BTW, you can be a very good story writer you know with all thrill, suspense and drama, romance is though needed ... but you can be a kid's story writer :>

Hoping good for zakhmi's life ... I hate dogs and cats though.

Gravatar Yup! He used to visit Tinkoo too.

Thank you! Thank you so much for the kind words about my writing capabilities!

Zarraa-nawaazish hai!

I guess I have always been a child at heart and it would make me very happy, if children were to like any of what I write. :P

Romance has never been my forte.

Thanks for the good wishes for ol' Zakhmi! I am sure Zakmi and Tinkoo would have helped improve your opinion about dogs, if you had been able to interact with them.

Gravatar moving piece, especially loved the last paragraph.

Gravatar Thanks!

Gravatar Beautifully written. It reminds me of my teenage days back home in Chandigarh. We never had a pet of any sorts coz Mom didn't like the idea much(her rationale was that her hands are full..hehe). Like zakhmi, we had a dog on the street, who I am sure was a Lhasa Apso(probably strayed from his owners), my mom would feed him and after sometime he was permitted to come inside the house. I named him coochoo. My relationship with coochoo was pretty similar to as what you described as yours to zakhmi.Once he fell sick and I remember mixing paracetamol tabs in the milk and he was back to good health in less than a week. In the evenings,I would sit in the lawn to read something, he sat next to me in a very protective manner and protective he was! Then one day coochoo got into an accident and died. I was inconsolable at the news of his death. After that I didn't have the heart to think of having a pet ever. Some scars don't heal I suppose.

Gravatar Thanks!

I am sure some canine will worm his/her way into your heart, once again, very soon, although Coochoo will always have his very special place there.

Gravatar Thanks for sharing all this.I added my new article on Sarsa Controversy in the blog of punjabi articles.

Gravatar Very well written Sidhusaheb..at first i seriously thought it was some guy whom u r talking abt
Hows zakhmi doing...i hope he's not zakhmi these days? :P

Gravatar Thanks!

He's doing fine.

Gravatar Hey Sidhusaaheb...how abt posting some of his pics on ur blog? All ur blog readers will get to virtually meet Mr. Zakhmi then

Gravatar I am sorry to disappoint, but apart from the reason mentioned in an earlier comment on this post, I think posting a photograph would also spoil the element of surprise for the readers.

Gravatar Oh yeah u r right....i didn't think abt that :D....no problem!
