I almost blew a gasket when they started protesting Walter Reed talking about what the soldiers that were recuperating must want.

Like you, I am angry that these people get so much lavish attention and cloying adoration from the MSM. Their antics are daily readings, while the writings of Michael Yon and those who are telling the truth about what is happening in Iraq and daily demonstrating the courage of our military are ignored. These days, running for President of the US is a simple matter--agree with the MSM and no matter how idiotic, delusional or destructive of this country are your ideas they will support you. I am frustrated with the inability to make the American public aware of the truth. Most of the people I know don't even read blogs and still rely on the regular newsmedia. THEY DON'T KNOW ANYTHING EXCEPT WHAT THE MSM TELLS THEM.
BTW, great post!

Thank you, Dr Sanity- High praise, indeed!
You are right, of course- the MSM is dictating the conversation- and that is unacceptable.
It is interesting to note how shallow the MSM have become- it is now the truth that can upset the apple cart at any time, and thus it is is the truth that has become toxic.
They see and report what they want have to, so as to maintain the illusion.
If the MSM were measured in the same way as other professions, they might be institutionalized for repeatedly endagering their clients.

I can only imagine the email you're gonna get...
Truth hurts, y'know. Expert diagnosis of the problem.
They ARE the enemy. This war won't be lost on the battlefield, it'll be lost at home. They don't give a shit, either; it's all about their own deluded self-affirmation. Selfish, evil, sick bastards.

Whew! No wonder my monitor was smoking when I dropped by.
And you are right on every single point. Very sad state of affairs but as is common with so many things these days some people will only see what they want to.

I've met plenty of folks that want out of the war for reasons that have nothing to do with Bush. And they don't want to just pull out and be done with it like *that*. But there are plenty of folks that do.
but broad brush strokes don't usually get to the heart of the matter.

The reasons we went to war can be debated from now till the end of time. Right, wrong or indifferent, we cannot leave now- for all the reasons we mentioned and a host of others.
If there is an argument that can be made that leaving Iraq is a good idea, we have yet to hear it.
Simply making the assertion that it is so, simply does not make for that good argument.

I think we're well passed the "So which side cares about the Iraqis?" point. Fact of the matter is US pull out troops = Iraq royally fucked and such a situation wouldn't be good for anyone IMO. Self-interest certainly plays into it--as it should USA (or any other country) isn't Red Cross.
I've avoided practically all news on Sheehan as I figured it would all be spin spin spin, conservative and liberal mouth pieces alike. No one seems to want balance anymore, just a media that sides with them.
And I don't even know why I commented. I usually just lurk to see if you have any Canadian posts (which you've been doing more of!).

I have only one suggestion for those protesting the war.
Collect a few "freedom fighters" and drop them on the doorsteps of Those Who Think War Is Bad.
I wonder if Those Who Think War Is Bad would defend their spouses and children from their new guest? Or do you think we would find them all holding hands singing "Kum-bay-yah"?
(That last bit was pure sarcasm, just in case anyone should think otherwise).
I do wish we would get the job done over there, though. I think all we really need is a Woman In Charge, perhaps right around the 14-25'th days of the month.

What more could I add to this searing argument regarding the progressive left and the War on Terror?
Except this observation:
If cindy sheehan characterizes the terrorists who murdered her son as "freedom fighters", what category does she place her deceased son?

What irks me the most is when my "liberal" friends claim, with the utmost sincerity, that "dissent is no longer allowed in this country." Cindy Sheehan, in their view, is being persecuted. The Media is being hamstrung. Karl Rove is masterminding the suppression of any & all who dare to voice disagreement with the Bushalliburton view of the Universe.
Yeah, Mrs. Sheehan certainly looks persecuted to me. And the NYT and WaPo only print complimentary articles in support of the current Administration...
Aaargh!

***BREAKING NEWS*****
(Al-AP) Crawford Tx.
Cindy Sheehan while paying for rolling papers and munchies at a local 7-11 used a check issued to her by HALLIBURTON inc.
fueling speculation that she is an agent of White House uber-evil genius KKKarl Rove.
Sources say that Ms.Sheehan is actually being used by the Administration to further discredit the Anti-War Left with the majority of Americans.
Micheal Moore was reached at the Florida "Re-education" camp for comment about this developement replied;"If you don't have any Twinkies,I'll take a stick of doublemint or what ever you have."
Sources close to Ms. Sheehan said that "Cindy meant to pay for those purchases with her "clowns and bunnies" checks, this is all a big mistake."
Mr Rove had "No Comment" when asked by this reporter about this matter but it should be noted that he had a very smug look and seemed to be rubbing his hands together in a way that suggested he was very satisfied by the way this developement came to light.
