Gravatar Wasn't YAF itself co-founded by a closet case?

Gravatar myspace.com/tylerwhitney

don't let him work for senator lindsey!

Gravatar Kid is 18 and lists himself as straight. Not sure I'm on board with outing a staffer this low. No 18 year old is a "rising star" in the GOP. This is taking political outing a little too low down the food chain.

Gravatar Actually, I think it's quite possible the republicans consider an 18-year-old a rising star. If he gives good soundbites, and spouts the correct lines, a closeted man can go far.

Gravatar low hanging fruit and all, but i mean, come on. the guy's name is 'tyler whitney'.

Gravatar I've always assumed that YAF is basically a closet gay organization. Isn't that really the point of it? I think of people like Karl Rove and guys who seemed an awful lot like him when I was in college in the 80's. I mean, carrying a sign that says "Go Back in the Closet" pretty much says all you need to know about what they believe. They have decided to stay in the closet and create this faux-conservative persona as a way to hang out with the guys and seem real manly.

Gravatar You have to nip these people in the bud. Today he's fronting for YAF, tomorrow he'll be the Roy Cohn of the 21st Century. To me, people like him are no better than a Black person passing for white and joining the Ku Klux Klan. (I'm not gay but I am Black and that's how I see it.) When someone is working against the rights of people just like him (or her -- Mary Cheney springs to mind, as do Clarence Thomas and Kenneth Blackwell), he needs to be stopped dead in his tracks.

Gravatar Seriously, if the kid is carrying signs that say "Go back in the closet," hell yeah he should be outed. Why the f**k should he get a free ride on the Hypocrisy Train at the expense of those of us who are out? Sheesh!

If he's gonna crap all over me and my family & friends, then I have absolutely zero problem with applying his own zero tolerance policy back on this zero. If you wanna tell people how to live their lives in terms of all-or-nothing, then, by god, all-or-nothing is good enough for you too.

And too bad you trusted your Republican "friends" to keep your shitty little secrets for you, pal. If watching Bush and his buddies for 6 1/2 years has taught you nothing, you should have at least learned that Republicans' definition of "loyalty" leans more heavily on "what's in it for me?" than any dumb old notion of human decency. If he really wanted to be in the closet, he shouldn't be telling his tales to a gang of opportunists.

Gravatar The story I'd like to understand is--why did he tell people?
Did he think 'all that stuff is just for them, not me?'
IOKIYAR?
Or was he just unable to live with himself without tellling someone, and wanted believe that his really really good friends would understand?
Or was he just planning the catastrophe?

I can't help it: my heart goes out to him.
He's 18.
I can't tell you how stupid I was at 18.

Gravatar Scratch a Republican activist, find a closet case.

This is rule of thumb.

Gravatar No 18 year old is a "rising star?" Give me a freaking BREAK! They were sending 21 year olds to Iraq to run the finance and governmental management offices from the Green Zone as political operatives if they towed the neo-con line hard enough. There is documentation all over the place that kids straight out of college were running government contracting offices if they checked the YES box next to "I'd suck Bush if he asked me."

They get 'em young. Really young.

Gravatar Kid is 18 and lists himself as straight. Not sure I'm on board with outing a staffer this low. No 18 year old is a "rising star" in the GOP.

Tell that to Monica Goodling or Kyle Sampson, both of whom rose to be 2 of the most powerful figures in the Department of Justice while each was barely over 30.

Gravatar If you look at his Myspace page friends, you'll notice the young fellow with the rifle: That kind of image is being discussed on other sites. The (almost inevitable) hubristic fall of the GOP is almost certainly going to be followed by the rise of a new 1990's era anti-government, rightwing violence, ala Tim McVeigh, etc... That is something we should all watch out for. These nuts are dangerous now that they control power; watch how violent they become when they lose power.

Gravatar and your point is?

Gravatar hell coming out at 18 woulda been so much better for me instead of 24. get the pain over with, let the chips fall where thay may and hopefully this kid will see some kind of light. feel sorry for him? coming out is usually the best thing any of us queers have ever done - Freedom! it's the American way.

Gravatar It is funny how the Republican party is The Party of the secret homosexual. But there is a more sinister side to this. You see the secret homosexual, likes being closeted and likes a social environment where you have to be closeted. He doesn't like his out brothers and sisters embarrassing him. So you have the weird spectacle of closeted homosexuals working hard, hell giving their lives, to make sure the most socially conservative and repressive party stays in power. That way they can keep on partying like its 1949.

Sick.

Gravatar This boy is going to crack up in one way or another. You can't have that much internal conflict build and not have an explosion.
I feel sorry for him because he's so young, and sad because he's set himself up for a very, very unpleasant period.

Oh well, he made some dumb decisions, and he's going to find out the consequences.

Gravatar Although the guy is only 18 and there is clearly some sympathy here for him, you have to wonder how much sympathy he demonstrates to gay men and women. He was old enough to take his stand with a guy like Tancredo.

Gravatar This isn't about his sexual preference.

It's not about his age.

Tear him up and bring him down.

All of them.

Gravatar Is it any wonder they try to re-inforce the "bleeding-heart liberal" stereotype. Listen to you people. This little sociopath would have no trouble throwing any of you in a hole to rot for the rest of your lives, or worse, just for your politics. My heart bleeds, but not for the likes of him. Make him bleed. Make them all bleed. If you aren't up to it. Don't watch, or stay out of politics. This is not a polite and civil endeavor.

W. Is for Warfare
How Bush succeeds, Pitney style.

By Ben Domenech, NRO
August 11-12, 2001

The Art of Political Warfare By John J. Pitney Jr. (University of Oklahoma Press 256 pages, $24.95)

In Gang of Five, Nina J. Easton recounts a story from the early-1980s heyday of the College Republicans, under the lead of Grover Norquist and Ralph Reed. According to Easton, before sending out campus recruitment teams, Reed and other CR leaders would require members to memorize the infamous speech from the film Patton, substituting the word "Democrats" for the word "Nazis": "The Democrats are the enemy. Wade into them! Spill their blood! Shoot them in the belly!" One year, the CR's Christmas card even featured a photo of Patton standing atop a hill, binoculars in hand, under the message: "Merry Christmas from the Front."

It was this attitude that inspired John J. Pitney's latest book, The Art of Political Warfare. Using both research and theory, Pitney constructs an interesting argument: that the rules and systemic boundaries of military combat apply as well to political combat....

Gravatar Are we forgetting so soon that wingnuttia exploded when Amanda and Melissa were tapped for blogmistress duty by John Edwards?

Gravatar My grandmother (may she rest in peace) was a child of immigrants -- and she felt the pain of oppression as a child (having to move to Canada to escape anti-German bigotry during WWI). She was also 50% Irish-American, so she had that to contend with too. She was anti-Religion (actively anti-Religion), pro-choice, anti-Vietnam, etc. etc. But damn if she didn't work hard to be the perfect Republican suburban housewife. She was going to "pass" and hard. She saw Republicanism as access to stability, money and power. And she wanted that. So she adapted. And none of her grandchildren or children were going to point out her hypocrisy and get away with it. Republicans trade on their WASPy insider lineage as a recruitment tool for those ashamed of who they are and their past. It's worked for at least 70 years and I don't see it going away.

Gravatar "You have to nip these people in the bud. Today he's fronting for YAF, tomorrow he'll be the Roy Cohn of the 21st Century. To me, people like him are no better than a Black person passing for white and joining the Ku Klux Klan."

Yup. and there's probably more where he came from.

Gravatar The trouble with an outing from a gay newspaper, it doesn't have much impact, except in our community. Look at the recent Anderson Cooper outing by OUT, and on the cover no less. It just fizzled.........Unfortunately. The last big outing story was the long dead Malcolm Forbes, 20 or so years ago. Even Pete Williams outing didn't get much play...

Gravatar I feel sorry for the kid - he's been told his entire life that what he feels is evil and disgusting. And of course it is not.

I hope he looks into the story of David Brock at Media Matters.

Gravatar It's really, really sad and pathetic. Kid is brought up by the wingers and indoctrinated into it. But 18 is when we say you're an adult and have to be responsible for your decisions. I think this will actually be part of his becoming responsible. Sometimes people need a wake up call like this.

Gravatar This is amazing because the founder of WorldNetDaily, Joseph Farah is endorsing Tancredo. There isn't a person on the planet more anti-gay than Farah. He is a follower of religious leader Roy Masters who owns Michael Savage's radio contract as well as the Right-Wing 'Talk Radio Network'.

Joe Farah: "My personal favorite of those actually in the race is Tom Tancredo. He gets high marks from me because of his tremendous leadership on the immigration and border issue. Without him, amnesty would probably already be a reality and the border would be even more porous than it is. That's quite an achievement for a congressman from Colorado. But he's much more than a one-issue candidate. He knows who he is and what he believes."

http://www.worldnetdaily.com/ new...RTICLE_ID=56117

Gravatar I have to say that his MySpace page and the messages his friends leave on it are pretty disturbing.

Gravatar 18?

Jesus, shouldn't there be some sort of age limit on outting? Like, say, over 25?

It just seems like outting someone in their late teens or early 20's, a period of time marked by all sorts of identity confusion for many people, is counter-productive, and, well, mean.

Gravatar Tyler Whitney also posts a lot of hateful stuff at the ultra-homophobic site FreeRepublic where he uses the name 'kc8nsb': http://www.freerepublic.com/focu...s/1365681/ posts

Gravatar "They have decided to stay in the closet and create this faux-conservative persona as a way to hang out with the guys and seem real manly."

There is quite a bit of truth to that. From Terry Dolan to Matt Sanchez. These type are not self-hating at all but instead consider themselves superior to "dirty gays" or "weak faggots". They want to immerse themselves in a world of masculine sweat and testosterone while imagining themselves manly warriors - - very very pathetic.

Gravatar "Or was he just unable to live with himself without tellling someone, and wanted believe that his really really good friends would understand?
Or was he just planning the catastrophe?"

No. A lot of you are misunderstanding Tyler. He is part of a new generation of 'conservative' GOP gays. They actually believe they can simultaneously demonize and rant against "faggots" while also sucking cock and rimmming other men. Remember when California had the anti-gay Proposition led by Pete Knight? Well at the same time, some gay guy who called himself a Titanic expert was openly working for Knight's anti-gay campaign. They say stuff like homosexuals shouldn't have special rights, etc. It is a very freaky and dangerous path. But they are trying to float this new mentality and the GOP leaders love it because it gives them cover for anti-gay issues.

Gravatar I'd hate to be held responsible for just about anything I did at 18, but I guess, given the kind of sinister people who have this kid in their clutches, we don't have much choice. I think the trick is to point out the hypocrisy of Tancredo and his zombies, and see if there isn't a way to show this kid some alternatives to the way he's behaving right now. There might be some hope for him, yet, but it's tough for someone that young to buck his family and his friends and everything he's been taught even if doing so would be a step toward Mental Health...

Damn sad to see a young person so hateful.

Gravatar The person who would best be able to comment on this is the author Scott Lively. I would love to hear his analysis. He is extremely anti-gay and wrote the book 'The Pink Swaztika' in which he wrote about homosexuality in the SS. He knows intimately about those gays who are attracted to fascism and actually derive a sexual stimulus from ridiculing, bashing, raping, and even murdering other gays. This is the same syndrome as Tyler Whitney.

Gravatar Tancredo needs to be asked point blank:

1. Would you allow your daughter to date a wholesome young conservative man like your webmaster Tyler Whitney?

2. What specifically makes one of your staffers, the best-of-the-best, a founder of several Republican youth groups, a threat to unit cohesion of our military?

3. Mr. Tancredo, of course we all sin. But what about a person who unrepentantly embraces that sin and claims it's normal? Wouldn't that person be in fact embracing and rationalizing evil itself? Would you hire an alcoholic who attended alchoholic pride festivities celebrating drunkeness(like Tyler is attending gay pride in DC)?

4. Mr. Tancredo, if you had a staffer who openly celebrated a lifestyle of Devil worship would you still welcome them into your campaign because it is a private issue of faith?

5. If Tyler Whitney develops AIDS from engaging in male/male anal intercourse, will your campaign still embrace him for acts that were done in private?

Gravatar Tyle calls himself a "paleo-libertarian", that is the same school of thought as Justin Raimundo (remember him). Raimundo is 'out' and gay yet was the head of Pat Buchanan's presidential campaign office in SF back in '94 (?).

This is not some confused kid. He is consciously practicing an ideology that tries to merge what is considered anti-gay with gay. He is not now going to magically improve his viewpoints. In fact, I would imagine he is going to ride this publicity to increase his cache among the Right.

Tyler knows exactly what he is doing, believe me. Talk to Justin Raimundo (I think he writes for the site Anti-War).

Gravatar That kid has got to be an emotional mess. I think all those who work against their own need to be exposed, but that doesn't stop me from feeling sorry for the kid.

And he's gotta face daddy, too.

Gravatar Although he's only 18, outing him may help him and stop him from engaging in heinous acts when he gets real power. Equality or even human decency for homosexual people will only be achieved by the breaking down of closet walls. While I respect a private person's right to privacy, this person took a public stand that was harmful to others. His hypocrisy as an adult must be pointed out.

Gravatar He needs to meet Tom Beddingfield. Remember when Pete Knight was running anti-gay Prop 22 in California. At the time a 19-year-old out gay man Tom Beddingfield stepped up and supported the anti-gay campaign. It was very strange. I don't know what happened to him but he definitely knew what he was doing.

Gravatar The sick thing now is that we are entering an era in which someone like Terry Dolan could have been openly gay and still working for the anti-gay Right. Look at Mary Cheney, Mehlman, and Jeff Gannon. The Right Wing are licking their chops in anticipation of using these freaks as weapons against other gay people. This pig needs to be stopped in his tracks. Even Rich Tafel and other Log Cabinettes would never support a dangerous freak like this.

Gravatar I am serious here. This young man has been outed and will need support. He may, in fact, not have a home to return to. Since he's in DC, this might be a great opportunity for the Log Cabin Republicans to step up and offer to mentor him. Though I find it a contradiction in terms to be Republican and gay, they may have enough of a conservative mind set to actually reach out to him. He needs to understand his sexuality, realize that he is, in fact, a member of a minority group, and only well adjusted gay mentors can help with that. He apaprently has not been exposed to anyone happy with themselves and functioning well in society.

Gravatar So Michaelangelo gave out tyler's my space

www.myspace.com/tylerwhitney

Gravatar "I am serious here. This young man has been outed and will need support. He may, in fact, not have a home to return to"

Are you nuts? He has many friends in the extreme anti-gay right. Aren't you aware that Jessie Helms attended Mary Cheney and Heather Poe's committment ceremony? It is exactly like Signorile said on his show - they make exceptions for their own. Tyler came out on his own - he wasn't outed at all . Read the articles. He has boyfriends who are also extremely Right-Wing, into 'family-values', and also gay. Yes, it is totally hypocritical, but nonetheless it is the truth.

I wouldn't worry about him. He is going to be campaigning, protesting, and backstabbing as strong as ever tomorrow, next week, and next year. You are making a dangerous mistake of thinking this type of person has a conscience and will become pro-gay just because of their need for sex. Not true at all. If you talk to him, he will insist that he doesn't approve of "homosexual militants" or "special rights".

Gravatar Reading this I really have to laugh. The "friends" all seem to be preocupied with the stellar notion of Penis size being something of major importance to him. Do they know something we do no about his? Is he that small? Or is he that huge himself? Or, could it be they are aware of his interest in other males?

Gravatar Give the kid a break, he's 18, when I was in the closet I was conservative because I thought I was better than other gays because I could "fight it"...let the hostility he gets be from his fellow travellers on the right wing side...look at David Brock's journey...

Gravatar republican scum is republic scum. tancredo is a fool. living in denver i have seen tancredo bloom in righe wing colorado- the #1 hate state,

Gravatar He's "online now" at MySpace

Gravatar Hey Dianne,

Maybe he can go stay at Mark Foley's house, hmmm? Sending this kid to a gay Republican to "mentor" him? Why don't you just send him to a Roman Catholic priest?

Gravatar Tyler has been busy today. He's scrubbing his myspace page... all the comments are gone, and he is no longer listing himself as "straight".

He has also removed references to his college, his political activities, and his past employment.

Anyone got a screen capture of the original where he calls himself straight?

Gravatar No 18 year old is a "rising star" in the GOP. This is taking political outing a little too low down the food chain.
Rob W |

Good point. And you know what else, I smell a huge stunt behind all of this, which is a bit like Matt Sanchez's sketchy "outing" on datalounge forum..

Those right-wingers who sit at Karl Rove's table are a twisted-minded bunch, and you have to start thinking like them to understand their tactics.

like, who makes a 18y old a "rising star" in the GOP? and who leaked all that info to gay mag Between the Lines? and for what motives?

answer: they did! so they can now launch a new 'hate star' who will grab headlines and blame the gay community for outing his innocent self. along the way he'll also start a blog and spew a bit of rehearsed hate at the community.

we've been there with Matt Sanchez, and we know the script by heart already.

Gravatar crap. should have screen capped some of his commentors, especially the freak who cautioned him that his activism could possibly lead to him being dead in some ghetto dumpster with a dredel in his mouth and a copy of the 1964 civil rights act shoved up his ass- I mean, how can you get that much hate, projection, and loathing into one sentance? Heck, he even got a twofer on the antisemitism and fear-of-a-brown-planet thing.

those people are so weird...

Gravatar dude, the link to the myspace cache is trying to take us to your C drive- that's not good.

Gravatar Come on. Isn't Tom Tancredo a closet case, too? Sure, I know he has a wife and kids, but my gaydar has jammed with his face.

The closet is too full. Get them out!

Gravatar Okay, link to cached version all corrected and I did make a screen capture.

Gravatar Scratch a Republican activist, find a closet case.' Well said, Apprentice to Darth Holden. And then there are all those televangelists. Re Ted Haggard: he was confronted by Richard Dawkins in the course of making a film version of 'The God Delusion.' Another closet case - and was he fulminating against all sorts of sins.
And 'A person's sexual preference is a personal matter ..'. If only that were the case!

Gravatar Refer to my previous comment (when I said that Mr Whitney will follow the same script as Matt Sanchez; claim he's straight and spew some hatred at the gay community):

this is just in on Americablog

Tyler Whitney changed his whole MySpace page tonight. He came out as gay to his buddies but now says he's straight and has pictures of a girlfriend. Not surprisingly he says "faggots can hot to hell with their special rights agenda". This is one twisted evil mental case. If he turned his hatred inwards it would be different, but he is openly hateful to any innocent glbt.
Dean | 06.12.07 - 9:04 pm | #

I told you this whole thing had been pre-scripted...

And I suspect it's the same for Bush's recent "ex-gay" appointee James Holsinger.

All of these stunts are calculated, deliberate and leaked online as a way to provock the gay community. These are classic psyop tactics - and it seems like the GOP fundies have taken on using them against the gay community:...divide to conqueer...

You guys really need to start reading about psyop, psywar, black propaganda, infiltration to understand what they're doing here..

http://www.psywar.org

Gravatar Get real, wussies. There's no age "too young" to take on an active hatemonger & future terrorist. It's bleeding-heart sentiments like that that stoke the fire in the YAF belly.

This "field rep" for the Leadership Institute did well to live in DC. His sex life is prolly much improved since he moved to gay Republican ground zero.
I look foward to seeing Andy Sullivan & Jeff Gannon as his My Space Friends.

Gravatar Hadasseh,

You can't be friends with Andrew Sullivan unless you are into barebacking and you can't be friends with Jeff Gannon unless you have $250 a night.

Gravatar ^^ Go away Tyler Whitney.

Gravatar I hope someone can please remove Demesne Lord's post. Putting up someone's contact information and then inviting people use it to harass that person is not cool.

Done

Gravatar This comments section and even the articles are full of errors. First off, Whitneys dad was not Englers speech writer, nor is his name Gleaves.

Secondly, Between the Lines didn't "out" Tyler, I posted the story first on my blog.

You guys are worse then the hate mongers you piss and moan about all the time. Did anyone that posted all this trash on here ever consider the fact that that is old news? That he doesn't do those things anymore? That his views on the issue have changed completely?

--
From Signorile:

This is an old trick: You claim it's full of errors, but then you only name one alleged error. In fact, on that one, two sources, one of which is quoted in the article, told Between the Lines (I spoke with the reporter) about Whitney's father. But they did get a couple of emails disputed it, so they removed it from their story. Tyler Whitney himself wouldn't confirm anything or reply -- if he is so much in a different place nowadays and changed his positions, why didn't he respond and why doesn't he say so?

I have offered him to come on my radio show, and he has not responded. Why don't you urge him to do so, and he can clear the air.

Gravatar karma works

the scary thing reading his myspace site is the hate, the ignorance, and the violence.

Gravatar You guys are worse then the hate mongers you piss and moan about all the time. Joe Sylvester |

Fuck you Joe Sylvester. And twice.

But as a consolation prize I'll let you that The Advocate or Out magazine will gladly hire you if you feel like delivering lessons on cue on behalf of the neocons, whom those magz have completely sold out to lately.

On their page they even have a certain Tully Satre who sounds just like you, mouthing out to the gay community they have "no class" because some mean comments have been posted about the death of the very-tolerant-himself Jerry Falwell. Awww.

If you appreciate the nerve of that neocon talking head imbecile I promise you'll feel right at home with The Advocate. They even publish articles by Jeff Gannon - so there you have it.

Good luck, foo.

Gravatar Contrariwise,

For the record, I didn't put his information out there, he did. His email address and phone number are publicly available online on a Tancredo campaign press release.

And your accusation that I invited people to "harass" him is false. I suggested people communicate directly with him. Isn't that preferable to (and more honorable than) all of this snarking behind his back?

How is posting his email and phone number (both available to the public because he made them public) any different than posting his real name or his myspace page address?

Gravatar Tryagain: You are just an idiot. Flat out. Everytime you post something you show how ignorant you are.

Demesne: You are encouraging people to harass him. Do you think anyone is dumb enough to believe otherwise? Look at the context of these posts and even what you yourself said!

Gravatar Demesne Lord:

There was no indication that the number came from a press release and that was in fact a business number. It could have been his personal number, and with all of the heated comments you can understand why some people might, in the context of these comments, see it as a call to harrassment. Thanks for clarifying that.

Let's just make it clear that if people want to go to the Tancredo website, contact him at work, in his capacity as public person -- or on myspace -- they should do so politely in an attempt to speak with him or let him know their thoughts. I wrote him on myspace myself, though I did not hear back from him.

Gravatar Joe Sylvester: And you keep proving you're an idiot.

I just failed to give you credit for finding your way to this page: aren't conservative bigot types not supposed to visit gay blogs? who alerted you about this post?

Gravatar "Anyone got a screen capture of the original where he calls himself straight?"

Yes, the screen caps are over at Pam Spaulding's site. Tyler was a busy boy tonight cleansing his site of all the racist garbage: http://www.pamshouseblend.com/sh...FA? diaryId=1983

Gravatar Yes, isn't it funny how Joe Sylvester has not written about this grave injustice on his own blog, but is here putting forth claims that the story is innacurate (without listing said innacuracies)? And where is Tyler, why won't he speak?

They're also trolling the comments of my latest post -- in which I report that Tyler, according to friends, is doing "fine" and plans to continue his work. check it out, latest post on the blog.

Gravatar "All of these stunts are calculated, deliberate and leaked online as a way to provock the gay community. These are classic psyop tactics - and it seems like the GOP fundies have taken on using them against the gay community:...divide to conqueer..."

I don't take psyops lightly and readily admit that the GOP freaks are experts at dirty tricks. This is clearly not one of them. You didn't follow the timeline. A CONSERVATIVE site called 'Conservative Dossier' was the one that outed him. Then the journalist who Mike interviewed contacted the past female publicity chairman of the college Republicans. That lady, a friend of Tylers, confirmed that he came out to her and others as gay. In other words he has already been out for about two months. In reality, the so-called ruthless gay activists have been TOO CAREFUL and TOO RETICENT in this case.

Tyler Whitney is quite happy and content to continue his radical homophobic agenda while simultaneously rimming other boys. That is just a fact of the gay Republican mentality. They build up their own identities from putting down others. That's why the Limbaugh hate radio garbage is so popular. I guarantee this kid has a lot more devious plans to spring in the future. He wants gay blood, and he will get it one way or another.

Gravatar I recommend anyone that's seriously interested in this case - add Tyler to your friend's list on MySpace, also attempt to add all his friends. Then begin the unravelling. I too am IMing him and emailing him. Of course his Right-Wing protectors will advise him to hunker down and keep on the down low. But if enough people politely contact him and work their way into his twisted network of homophobic, bigotted, racist, cocksuckers (literally) ... Tyler's real agenda will be exposed. After all, isn't the TRUTH what both sides are after in the end?

Gravatar In other words he has already been out for about two months. In reality, the so-called ruthless gay activists have been TOO CAREFUL and TOO RETICENT in this case.

Thanks for the timeline Travis.

But Matt Sanchez was already out for months before he was "outed" on gay blogs.

That's why the Limbaugh hate radio garbage is so popular.

Who's that? I never heard of him.

I guarantee this kid has a lot more devious plans to spring in the future. He wants gay blood, and he will get it one way or another.

Oh really? Thanks for the warning, we'll be on the lookout.

Gravatar "But Matt Sanchez was already out for months before he was "outed" on gay blogs."

That is a good point. That is why these things need to be exposed while they still have relevance. The strategy of the Republicans is just to hunker down and let this stuff pass. They know the media will give them cover as soon as possible. Luckily people like Michelangelo Signorile and Mike Rogers have gradually begun to re-frame the issue so it is no longer a double standard.

Hopefully people in the media will be asking the campaigns to respond to questions about having unrepentant homosexuals staffers and how that might effect a campaign based on the faith of Jesus. These needs to be pointed out again and again. Tyler Whitney is not seeking ex-gay therapy or anthing of the sort. That is because he doesn't think being gay is a sin. That literally makes him a nymph from Lucifer's loins per biblical scripture. For Tancredo to allow this and yet claim to be a devout Christian is unheard of. He needs to be exposed as just another Guiliani and cut loose by the fundies.

Gravatar Why don't you give the kid a break? He's only 18 and probably terribly confused. I never knew who he was or who he worked for, but realistically, how much "damage" could he have done at 18? Save your vile and vitriol for someone a little older who has actually done some harm. Most of these comments sound like they could have been written by right wing nut bags.

Gravatar Because, jay, it's important to them that you kill these people off early.

Heck, gay lefties and Democrats were hoping Samuel Cheney died in utero, and when they didn't get that, they started praying for of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

Gravatar OH, ND30, there you go again, citing the most extreme off-the-cuff crap you can find in Comments sections. I checked your links. AMERICAblog is read by a lot of people, so what makes you think that "Sandy" is a "gay leftie"?
That said, I think that Tyler's being 18 is very relevant here - his father is a political activist and like most boys, he tries to be in harmony with his dad. I congratulate him for what honesty he has in coming out to his peers.
Matt Sanchez is an entirely different matter. He denounced gays and "the Left" a full decade after his famous mutual fellatio scene in Idol Country.
Finally, to commenter Ken. Raimondo writes for Antiwar.com and is paleoconservative in the sense of opposing the present War Based on Lies. Tancredo, however, exclaimed that we should "nuke Mecca". So, let's not get confused by bywords and labels. Neocons like Bill Kristol, however, have written the forward to books like this.

Gravatar If you want to see the movie version of this story, and you're a Netflix subscriber, rent Eating Out 2; http://www.netflix.com/Movie/Eat...31? trkid=203957

The gay conservative anti-gay activist in this movie bears a striking resemblance.

Gravatar These constant references to Whitney as "the kid" and as a "boy" are inane. 18 may not be as mature as 25, 35 or 45 but it's adulthood; and the Right's campaign for a corporate oligarthy with theocratic underpinnings is driven as much by the Bright Young Things as it is by the aging dinosaurs. This guy's career as a propaganda artist can do as much damage if he starts at age 18 as it can if he starts when he's 35. Feel sorry for him if you must, but don't kid yourself -- if he can swim with the sharks he will bite your foot off just as readily as any of the older fish.

BTW, for the poster who drew a parallel to blacks joining the KKK - an interesting postscript in African-American history is the story of the few heroic African-American men who were light-skinned enough to "pass" and who joined the KKK in order to have inside information that could save lives.

It would be risky as hell, but I hope these anti-gay hate groups have a mole or two.

Gravatar I wonder how much republican cock this guy was sucking.

Gravatar If an 18-year-old is a rising star, it speaks volumes for how low the Republican Party is esteemed in this country.

Gravatar Where was North Castro Thirty (he fled the hetero heartland for the gay ghetto some time ago) when Ann Coulter was advocating the poisoning of Justice Stevens? His outrage is simply too fickle to be believable. He doesn't care about people advocating violence. He's fine with it when Ann Coulter or Michael Savage or Rush Limbaugh or Bruce Campbell or the loonies over in the Free Republic comments section do it.

Gravatar OH, ND30, there you go again, citing the most extreme off-the-cuff crap you can find in Comments sections.

I can speak from personal experience, Georgiy, in telling you that John Aravosis will delete and/or edit anything with which he disagrees in his comments sections -- and that his commentors are not quiet or shy when it comes to denouncing other peoples' statements.

In short, the fact that that is there in the first place, and barely challenged in the second, makes it quite clear that gay leftists and Democrats have very little problem with it.

Meanwhile:

Where was North Castro Thirty (he fled the hetero heartland for the gay ghetto some time ago) when Ann Coulter was advocating the poisoning of Justice Stevens?

Saying she was wrong.

Just like I have before when she says stupid things.

Now, did you have a point, or were you just trying to derail any examination of your own postings?

Gravatar Funny... I looked at North Castro Thirty's blog and found nothing at all about Ann Coulter advocating the poisoning of Justice Stevens. Nothing at all. So where did you say she was wrong? You seem to have a hyperlink for everything else, so why not for this? I think that when she said that you stood mute because it suited your political aims to stand mute. Now that your tacit support for her is no longer convenient, you are attempting to rewrite history.

To the contrary, Jeff says that back in the days when Ann was calling for the murder of judges, he considered her to be "telegenic, intelligent, and witty". He only stopped thinking that after she called John Edwards a faggot.

And I am afraid that "saying she was wrong" just isn't going to cut it, Jeff. On your own blog you say that "denouncing Coulter is not enough". But what more have you done? Your own evidence seems to indicate that you haven't done enough to oppose conservatives' addiction to violent rhetoric. If denouncing isn't enough (as you yourself claim on your blog), then what have you done beyond that? So far, even your own unsubstantiated claim is that mere denouncing is as far as you are willing to go...

Gravatar He's 18. He's a nobody. He has the right to be out or not. Again, he's 18. By the way, I hink the high school kid who cuts my crass is gay. Very very hot.
Wears an earring.
And he's for Mitt Romney.
Should I out him? Will he (rightfully) beat the crap if I do.
He is, by the way, very up and coming in his high school Republican club. He's VP. If the President dies, this closeted faggot is President.
HELP!!!!

Gravatar Sad, sad, sad. Not Tyler, you! So insecure you have to tear down kids in order to feel good about yourself. Quite frankly, it stinks - but it is very liberal of you.

Gravatar As opposed to conservatives, Kevin, who have to tie gays to fences or beat them to death to feel good about themselves?

All in all, I think the liberals come out pretty good in that comparison. At least their lashing out doesn't kill anyone.

Of course, your own blog tears down "queens", Muslims, and Paris Hilton... makes the reader wonder what you are overcompensating for???

Gravatar Suck it Kevin and take it like a man.

How conservative of you to whine like a baby when one of your (baby) mercenaries is taking the mighty fall.

Gravatar Anybody check out this "Kyle Bristow" person? I saw a bunch of pix of him on google posing with various right-wing Republican trash (Gingrich, Ward Connerly etc.) and boy did my gaydar start buzzing. If he's not a queen in real life I'll go straight (or maybe bi). Maybe he and li'l Tyler have more in common than homophobia - like homosexuality, closet-style.

Gravatar From "Mitchell": The person who would best be able to comment on this is the author Scott Lively. I would love to hear his analysis ....

I hope you're joking.

From "tryagain": On their page they even have a certain Tully Satre who sounds just like you, mouthing out to the gay community they have "no class" because some mean comments have been posted about the death of the very-tolerant-himself Jerry Falwell.

I've met Satre on a few occasions. He's a brave guy, and he has done some amazing work for GLBT youth in an unfriendly part of the country where people happen to think highly of Falwell. Trust me, folks, you want people like Satre on your side.

Gravatar He has every right to be outted! You pull that kind of shit that literally makes other people's lives a living hell, you're fair game. He's 18 years old. He's an adult and a self-loathing one at that. Why am I not surprised though? He's a Republican. Remember, they don't have to live by what they preach. They want to know everything you do in your personal lives, blast you for it, and then do it themselves. They are Satalinists.

Gravatar Maybe Barney Frank, Jim McGreevey or South Dakota State Senator Dan Sutton can set him straight? /sarcasm

I see hatred is alive and well in the Progressive Party...ho hum, no surprise.

It's okay to be gay and be a Lefty, but you can't be gay and Conservative. What a pathetic double-standard.

Gravatar You pounce on a young man who just came out to his friends, was planning on attending probably his first Pride parade and is coming to terms with his sexuality? Even worse you post contact info about him and his parents so they'll be harassed? Why? That the webmaster here allows this to remain speaks volumes of what kind of person he is as well.

Instead of helping Whitney along the journey and showing him that being gay isn't as bad as he probably grew up thinking, he faces the shrill princesses of the 'Queer Inquisition'? Everything ya'll have condemned him for was from BEFORE he came out to his friends. You treat someone like this and then want to play the role of victims? This is despicable and shameful.

Gravatar "I see hatred is alive and well in the Progressive Party...ho hum, no surprise."

Nice to see it from you conservatives too, blaming the ENTIRE gay community for the actions of a few. Stupid fucking gay-hating queens. It sucks that you think you're better than average gay people - must suck to be kooks.

Gravatar And my take on the subject, "Tyler Whitney Was Not 'Outed'":

http://gayleftborg.blogspot.com/...-not- outed.html

Gravatar I don't get the hateful acts from some on the left towards Tyler Whitney. Further, I don't support outing of anybody, but more so, since we are dealing with an 18 year old.

And Demesne Lord, I don't see how you could possibly justify posting Whitney's address and number.

Gravatar How long before Tyler is doing "The Shimmy" on a Pride Parade float?!?

I will pray for him.

M.

Gravatar I looked at the scrubbed website and think I have some insight. This kid is very, very attractive. People that beautiful have a very difficult time in life, contrary to what you might think. [I'm 6'4", a former model and speak from experience.] People will say anything to beautiful people to get in their pants. And they'll agree with anything you say. You never get any genuine feedback; the world becomes unreal and you learn not to trust anyone. In my experience, the only people beautiful teens tend to trust is family, and unfortunately this kid's only rock is his gay-hating family. Furthermore, having had sex with thousands of men, I can judge cock size by looking at a guy's nose. A wide nose (at the bridge) equals big cock, which is the case here. Now. Guys with big cocks often have a harder time getting off than us regulars. The bigger the cock the harder to get off. Believe-it-or-not. I've seen it for myself. I'm guessing this guy, at just 18, has never truly been sexually satisfied. He doesn't see what the big deal about sex is because he's never experienced the joy. I can just imagine what it's been for him: guys coming on him, zipping up and leaving before he knows what's happened. I feel sorry for him. He's as much a victim of his circumstances as he is perceived a villain. I hope he reads my post and recognizes the voice of experience. Here's my advice to Tyler: get off the stage. Grow a scruffy beard, let your hair get messy. Get some glasses. Wear frumpy clothes. Go different places, meet different people. Stop dazzling people; you're playing with fire and have already been burned. You have no idea how much worse it can get.

Gravatar "Nice to see it from you conservatives too, blaming the ENTIRE gay community for the actions of a few."

Not at all - just applying the same bias and prejudice - dare I say hate? - standard the Left applies to Conservative gays. Or can't you see the double standard?

"Stupid fucking gay-hating queens. It sucks that you think you're better than average gay people - must suck to be kooks."

I am none of the above - no more than every gay man is accrately represented by drag queens wearing heavy make-up that appear on the floats in gay pride parades.

Give a try to thinking outside your own pre-formed ideas...for once.

Gravatar Amen John. I don't think most people in here are Christian. Two tenets of Christianity. 1) Forgiveness 2) When you fall down, you get back up and carry your cross.

Gravatar The Second error is that is says that he worked for a VA orgnization that he has never heard of.

Gravatar I am telling you for a fact that Tyler's dad is not Gleaves. I have met him. His name is David. Go ahead and stand in error it's a common characterisitic of your website.

All I see on here is liberal whining and raw emotion that generally lacks logic.

Gravatar Good job on outing this nutcase, even if he is 18 years old. If he chooses to work for an anti-gay party (the GOP) and for anti-gay politicians, then he is fair game. If he's showing up at rallies against gays and lesbians, carrying signs that scream "Go Back in the Closet", then he's fair game.

Maybe one day he'll understand. Until then, he's shit on the bottom of my shoes. This is war, people. We've played "nice" for too long. Take 'em all down!!!
