The press never dealt with this honestly. Look at the taint on Dick Morriss, and that is just for toe-sucking a whore. Yet Sullivan openly sought to participate in AIDS gifting with willing ANONYMOUS victims of whom he had NO IDEA of their sero-status. Somehow, he is still welcomed onto the talking head news shows as a "Conservative Intellectual". No one in the MSM ever seems to notice the absolute insanity of that.
It's worth noting that Sullivan has scrubbed the article "Sexual McCarthyism" from his site. In the article, he specifically said "I have no regrets" about seeking HIV+ gangbangs. It has been widely documented that Sullivan has led a promiscuous and multi-partnered leather lifestyle. Those on the Right are well aware of this. That is one reason of the reasons we is hailed as a Conservative icon and renowned ethicism for the gay community. Behind the scenes, we are laughed at as a people who uphold baffoons as our role models. Sullivan will go down in history as one of the most disgraceful blots on glbt attempts at being taken seriously.
I was privileged enough to meet Jim and Mildred in Philly in April 2003 - six months after Jim and I had started exchanging emails. Fortunately I kept large chunks of our email 'correspondence' and his most memorable posts. A great writer indeed - and a loyal friend.
