Mike, the picture of you on the right is great! It's much better than the one on the SiriusOutq page and the "Personalities" page. Keep up the good work. Can't wait to hear you at NLGJA.

First things first: I fully agree with Darryl - the picture of you on the right is great, Mike! Wish I was half (a third?) as photogenic as you - keep those photos coming please!
And, needless to say, I agree with you fully re 'most Democrats, once again allowing Bush to get away with trampling the Constitution' spot-on as always.
Oh, and thanks for the 'special announcement', David E. By sheer coincidence I am listening to Edmund White (who is in Paris at the moment, lucky duckie) speaking at the 2008 Key West Literary Seminar eveh while I type this:

Listening to the conversation on FISA with callers today, in light of Obama's disagreement with the Supreme Court ruling yesterday regarding child rape and the death penalty not only has me questioning my recent support of Obama, but has me questioning his judgement and logic.

The FISA issue can be boiled down to politics as usual, but I believe you either believe in the death penalty or you don't. There's no room for just a little death penalty here, and some there, we know what a slippery slope that is. I have voted begrudgingly for politicians in the past who were pro - death penalty, but someone who is a little bit death penalty a little bit not makes me nervous because I see it as a symptom of a larger problem.

At this point it makes me wonder about his judgement, logic and conviction. The death penalty is one issue you either support of you don't. I believe that if you honor the sanctity of life the only way you teach others to do so as well is to hold it in such esteem that you demonstrate just how reverent it is.
Regardless your stance, Obama's position is full of inconsistencies and outright conflict. He believes in the death penalty yet he believes it is applied incorrectly many times, and he believes it does little to deter crime. He also believes it should be used in some case and not others, even though he knows that innocent people get convicted of such crimes. How can he ensure that someone convicted of child rape is guilty? And ... if you believe this is once again a consumate politician playing boths ides of the fence, is this a fence you want your leaders sitting on? I don't.
