Gravatar Michelangelo, you are on an optimistic high right now with the court decision. It was less than four years ago that half the country voted to ban same-sex couples from marrying. I would not trust voters in California to break away from that pattern. We have no reason to be confident in the voters. We have to try our hardest to defeat the ballot measure.

There is also trouble in Maine. On June 10th voters there will get the chance to vote on gay rights. I ask everyone to send their support to EqualityMaine and if you live in Maine to please participate in the effort to defeat the measure.

The more we hear you define the issues in a very clear and concise way, and read the language of legal opinions and amicus briefs of case law, the better we activists can approach issues for change. The nature of established LGBT organizations is that of resistance to be pro active, and the marriage issue must be spelled out to them in very plain language.
