By their fruits you will know them....and such pathetic "ecumenical" overtures by Rick Warren, et. al., are politically correct attempts to evidence phony grace to non-believers by alleged Christian "leaders" that are in truth repugnant to the Scriptures and are further destructive, not just to secular national concerns and national sovereignty issues, but such conduct affirmatively impugns Christ and the true Gospel. These so-called Christian leaders act as the promoters of false doctrines, false gospels, heresies, etc., and are the "wolves" prophesied in Scripture that seek . The big lie and delusion expressly or impliedly promoted by some is that Muslims and Christians worship the same "God". This is reflective of the spirit of anti-Christ and is inherently heretical in light of Scriptural truth. What Muslims and all of us need to do on an individual basis is...REPENT of our iniquitous condition/sins/idolatries/rebellion...and trust Christ for redemption in accordance with the Gospel as exegeted from Scripture. Scripture tells us that there will be no true peace until the Prince of Peace and King of Kings returns in His parousia to rule in a new heaven and earth. All other feeble attempts by man to imitate attainment of such a peace in a fallen world represent pale counterfeits of the Kingdom that only God can (and will) effectuate. Prior to the Kingdom of God being actualized in its fullness in Christ's second coming, you can rest assured that man will attempt to play god by seeking to control and manipulate men as their Genesis 3 compulsions dictate and such attempts will surely fail. The ostensible attempts by Rick Warren, et. al., are similarly doomed to failure and futile exercises of vanity.

If one were to poll the signatories of the "Christian" missive, my guess is that they would all hew to the Left of center. This is not a surprise. The Left, whether religious or secular, always concludes that the enemy is us. The result ends up being that the secular Left is embarassed to be American--or Western--and the religious Left is embarassed to be Christian. And you do not defend that which embarasses you.
