When you live in the live music capital of the world, the main station that airs NPR programming tends to lean heavily on special interest music pieces. KUT.org streams, so if you can afford an IPOD, I guess you could access it on your person. I dunno. It's one of my defaults (the others being the classical music station and a commercial station airing 80s music called Bob FM.) |

Part of the reason NPR is increasing its news and decreasing its music (usually jazz or classical) is because that has been shown to increase its fundraising. In other words, more news = more money. Which ultimately means that if the jazz/classical music lovers out there didn't want to lose their programming on their local NPR station, they ought to cough up the dough to pay for it. |
