Wow, that post brought back a lot of memories for me. Not memories of sex in the rain because I've never done that. But memories of the excitement and energy as a typhoon approaches and then slams into Hong Kong. As you said, Hong Kong has the best storms! I was also reminded of the only time I saw the stars in Hong Kong. It was a couple of days after a #8, and the power hadn't been restored to an area I was visiting in the New Territories. But the clouds had cleared away, and without any lights on the stars shone more brightly than I'd ever seen them in Hong Kong. I sat and looked at them for quite a while and felt a long way from home.

Nicely written, as always. Glad things are good.
Don't discount, though, a Midwestern thunderstorm that you see building in the west, towering until it finally blocks out the sun. The wind first, then the lightning and thunder, then the rain and maybe a tornado. Then the quiet.

I love how you sound so happy in this post. You write so well! Thanks for not taking your blog down. While I'm an occasional visitor, (My last visit was actually before your *second*-last post) I keep checking in not just for hedonistic stories (though those are fun too), but for the simple fact that you have a turn of phrase I enjoy reading.
