We're at $2.899 for E10 here, too, but still at $2.299 for the E85.
As for why, I think that people are getting more and more nervous about the mad mulluhs, the irksome iraqis, and the sanity-challenged saudis. If we have to bomb them back into the stone age, it's going to be more expensive to get the oil outta there. And on the other hand, the best case scenario is that the crazy muslims get sane, and the world is wonderful, and all the Indians and Chinese get SUVs. In which case we'll all be rich enough to afford the high prices, and anybody who complains is an ingrate...

I have seen many places were pundits say that Oil would have to reach $60+ a barrel for ethanol to be competitive. Oil was as high as $71 Yesterday.
Maybe this will turn the tide...

Spoke too soon -- filled up today and we were at $2.349 for E85 ($2.899 for E10) One fairly big bummer is that I only got 11-1/2 MPG. Pretty big mileage gap -- usually we get 17-20 on E10. Oh, well, vast majority of that was puddle-jumping little trips around town. Time to get back on the bicycle.
The claim I heard is that ethanol has a 51 cent/gallon tax break vs gasoline. Considering what it costs us to defend against oil-funded terrorism, that's probably about right...

That seems like the same tax break I have seen. I like to think of it as a sin (heh) tax on Oil instead of a tax break for Ethanol.
Weird thing is that there is a $0.53/gallon tarrif on imported Ethanol (usually from Brazil). Seems pretty stupid considering BigOil is crying about tight Ethanol supplies.

Whoa -- E85 was up to $2.549 last night, while the E10 is at $2.939.
They are building another plant about 30-40 miles away. Hope that takes some of the pressure off supply. (Faster please!!!)
