Keen observation however you did not write many words about Airbus not going for outsourcing option at all. Besides there could be a lot of other parameters where Airbus did bad rather than just choosing to outsource its non-core functions. I mean yes, it could have brought the price down and speed up but simultaneously, maybe its something else that they are actually doing wrong.

Perhaps. But, the battle for marketshare might be seen as a battle of the 787 versus the 380. And every component of the 787 is outsourced. I view this as a prime example of how outsourcing has moved from the periphery to the core and the significant impact that this movement can have on firm competitiveness.
