An interesting post, and true. I've sometimes failed to challenge wrong when I've been faced with it. May God forgive me. And you're right, such comments also portray men as mere slaves to their own lusts.

Thanks Abdur Rahman, I was trying to look beyond the media fracas into something bigger that we shouldn't ignore: the fact that this attitude isn't exactly uncommon. While one can say, "hey, he's just one bad egg" we also have to realize that if this guy is one bad egg (and I don't necessarily think he's evil, I just think he's got a bogus idea that offends the hell out of me), then a big chunk of the community goes along with it- whether they believe it or not.
More needs to be done. This incident is just an example of it, IMO
Good post. Ideas like his will continue to be expressed until people decide they don't want to hear anymore and either walk away or challenge the speaker. We need to do both to keep our communities free from this kind of ignorance and irresponsibility.
