Gravatar Asalaamu alaikum ukhti!

Thanks for sharing all this. It is inspiring and beautiful.

Gravatar Alhumdulilah that was such wonderful to read. I think I am going to start writing about my conversion to Islam.

Please send me the document on how the Bible and the Qur'an are simular. I would really like to read it.

Salaams and Thanks!

Gravatar Salaam Wayfarer

That was great - so simple yet saying everything!

Gravatar as salaam alaikum mamacita!

that was wonderful. alhamdulillah. Allah guided you as you requested, and i'm just glad he guided you to me too. AND your new family. MASHA'ALLAH.

I'd like your pamphet too sis.

Fiamana'Allah, Asiila

Gravatar Wonderful masha'Allah!!!!!! Thank you so much for sharing this story. I think many can learn a lot from it.

Thank you again.

Gravatar Wonderful story, I read it all. Although being Shia is something I disagree with (although I have Shia friends) and respect at the same time. Obviosly going to a Shia mosque will give you biased info. Oh well, Muslim = Muslim

Gravatar Thanks ya'll for the nice comments. I'll send that info out real soon (just gotta find it...i may only have it in hard copy now but can scan it in and send out).

Now see i knew someone would go there with the whole sect thing and make assumptions. :-( I will say my choice had nothing to do with a mosque and had everything to do with history. That is all i will say about that. Perhaps when i don't have so much on my plate i will explain my choice so assumptions won't be made...

Gravatar pretty cool!

Gravatar I love the honesty that comes through...and the uncertainty. What really impresses upon me is the way individuals find themselves stumbling awkwardly towards the truth. This is why I find the description of your shahaadah so wonderfully endearing.

Gravatar Asalaamu alaikum sis.

Well, you know I am Sunni and you and I never even have needed to get into why we chose differently. I am curious as to why you chose Shi'a, not so much because I disagree but just because I am curious and think it would be interesting. But I personally don't think you should have to explain yourself or worry about people that choose to make assumptions. It is sad that people don't think that women (or people in general for that matter) can make a decision based on thought, prayer, and knowledge. Just because we disagree doesn't mean I can assume you made your decision lightly or without knowing what you were doing.

Gravatar Thanks Saf! It's hard to put your personal thoughts and all that out there...clumbsiness and all (which is so right on)...

Aaminah. I hear ya sister. One day i'll explain it...just not today.

Gravatar wonderful story!

Gravatar that's an awesoem story rather narration of ur own life !!!

May Allah strengthens urs and ours faith even more and more, inshah Allah

Gravatar May I ask a question?

Why do Muslims so love this man you call 'prophet'?

If you read Islamic histories, you find dozens of terrible deeds of all kinds done by this man.

Do you not believe your own writings? These are the same sources you quote when it is convinient.

There are only three possibilities here...
1. The Hadiths are false
2. Those actions do not matter
3. The prophet was a really bad guy.

Please give me your opinion on this. I would really appreciate an explanation from a sincere Muslim on this matter.

Thank you

John

Gravatar I love all the prophets...

Just as in any religion, there is false information that is sometimes spread and also different sects within a religion believe different things. There is some "Islamic" ideologies out there that really disgust me and when you look into it, you realize it's not Islam as it was, it is Islam as it is interpreted by some human beings today. Many writings are corrupt too. You have to look into the sources and not just take what information is given out.

Just as in Christianity, the early Christians followed the religion correctly, but now most don't. Most drink, eat pork, have premarital sex, etc etc. The Bible forbids these things but no one seems to care. The followers of religions are not perfect, only God is perfect.

I'm not sure which deeds you are referrring to so i can't really clarify any questions but if you want to address specific issues, i can respond to those...

Gravatar Nice.

Gravatar Excellent!

Eeman is indeed the most priceless of possessions.

Gravatar She is more stuck with the religion than realising GOD. Long way to go. Perhaps many lives this way.

Gravatar a long story from a sister who converted to islam,a nice one.but in the end of the stor it did not mention wether she already say the kalimah sya'hadah, under whose witness did she say the kalimah sya'hadah.

Gravatar I have often thought of posting my conversion story.....but it was so personal and so overwhelming that I have never attempted it. After reading yours maybe I will.

I find it interesting that you call yourself Shia. In the end you converted to Islam (concepts of Shia and Sunni came later as you know). I had lots of Shia and Sunni friends who tried to convince me to go one way or the other. But in the end I am a Muslim and recognize and love all other Muslims...regardless of these divisions.

May Allah (SWT) bless you.

Gravatar Alhamdulillah

Congratulations !!!

may Allah lead us on the Straight path ( The sirat al mustaqeem), Aameen !!

It was good knowing your journey towards light.

Regards,

Gravatar Assalamuaalaikum...

Really great & wonderfull story. Masha Allah i cried when read the last part of your story.

Alhamdulillah. Thanks to Allah. He open your heart and showed the right path for you.

May Allah be with us.

Gravatar Oh my... I found a link to this on the Mysticsaint and i am overwhelmed and in tears... apart from the trip to Europe and with a few other exceptions this could have been my story. Even to using a make shift prayer rug. I have tried so many times to write it but it is so difficult for me to put to words what is deeply felt in the heart. Thank you.

Gravatar That's so funny our experiences were so similar. It is hard to put into words. I didn't for a few years... I'd love to hear your story sometime.
