Gravatar What great finds! I love the tins, and the quilts are gorgeous

Gravatar those are beautiful prints on the feedsacks and the quilts look lovely too...I imagine they will be so cozy.

Gravatar I have never come across feed sacks before, but the one's you've collected are great!
And that tin is really beautiful!

Gravatar Oh my. Those quilts are sooo so so soso pretty, cutters or not. Pile them up for a while and stare at them. Perhaps one last snuggle under them for one last winter before you decide their fate.

Fanning myself. and not jealous *stews in juices*

Gravatar Interesting history about the feedsacks, thanks for providing that link. Awesome tin.

Gravatar Heather and Elizabeth - i just love em too.

Robyn - this is just from the one sale. I've been collecting them since i learned to sew so i've found some on ebay etc but never a bunch like this for the insane price i paid ($1 apiece)...makes up for a few of the things i was overcharged on.

Qalballah - i hear ya. I've seen tales of scoring quilts and have yet to find one in a thrift but estate sales can be treasure troves for them. As you see though, i couldn't afford the noncutter ones - they were going for $100 +

Lubna - glad you enjoyed it. I really love the history and it feeds that part of my soul that wishes today was like the days of yore...more handmade and homemade than store bought.

Gravatar You already know all of those make my heart skip a beat...

$1 each is insanely cheap. I would have been tempted to buy every.single.one.

Gravatar i know. i didn't know that was going to be a price. it was one of those sales where the lady had so much stuff that they didn't price anything except the expensive stuff. it was an awesome sale. they did overcharge on some other stuff but it all balanced out. and i DID grab them all lol. i'm setting aside a lavendar one for you. I know you are into lav right now.

Gravatar i LOVE a beautiful, soft, old quilt

Gravatar (Why do I not have an email address for you handy? LOL)

Hang onto the cross stitch patterns too. As soon as the insanity slows down a bit here we are totally going to do a little between you and me swap. (For a lavender feedsack!?! That makes my heart beat faster.)

Gravatar I LOVE all your thrifting finds! You have gotten some really nice stuff! I try to go to estate sales here where I live. I hit one the other day that had patterns for all kinds of sweet kids things from the 50's and 60's. I am planning to make some aprons and dresses from them. But isn't it like a window to the past seeing some of those things?

Gravatar that's what draws me to estate sales. i love poking around while my imagination goes many different ways.

Gravatar sarah...it's here with your name on it. i'll email you my addy.
