YUM! We will be going picking soon as well... Got some super delish berries thru our CSA but not enough to make jam with (especially not when we eat half of them by the end of the first night -- because we are being CONSERVATIVE lol!) ... I'd also love to hear the recipe you used! It will be my first time making jam AND my first time canning! Yippee!

Pixie - sure thing!
Muslim Wife - I just follow the insanely sweet recipe on the pectin box directions.
Surviving - I love strawberries.
Amy - I use the pectin (suregel is the brand and you find it near the jello and gelatin boxes at the store).
It's insanely sweet. You do twice the sugar as the strawberries but it's yummy. I wanted to try the low sugar one this year because i don't need a lot of sugar in jam (usually i buy sugar free jam) but couldn't find it.
I follow the directions for freezer jam so the process is very quick and easy. Next year i'm going to start canning...actually this fall with tomatos and then i'll probably make it the canning way (where it doesn't need refrigeration). It's super yummy though. I made it last year and we went through all three jars in 5 months or so. Let me know if you do it! When we go blueberry picking i am going to do a few jars of that which i also really love and did last year the same way as the strawberry.
Hope that helps!

I'm drooling over those berries!
Canning is fun! I used to help my sister-in-law make pickles and it was so nice to pull them out in the middle of winter and remember those warm days spent in the kitchen making something delicious!
