Gravatar I would just like to say that I have had numerous problems with telus. I actually use to be a CSR with them and they are one of the most unethical companies I have ever worked for. During training underneath the warm and fuzzy feeling they try to give telus, and instead of extensive product training emphasis is on making the sale however you can. I have know reps at telus that add services to people lines without thier consent to just get the commission on the sale. They say things like who is going to notice an extra call waiting feature added.

This remind me of an experience I had with them after I left. I was getting both phone and internet service to my house. Well I moved out from my roomate and cancelled the service and paid up all the fees due. Well lo and behold I receive a bill from them 2 months later for over $200 of unpaid internet use and another for unpaid equipment (I think around $400). Well I called telus and they first told me the unpaid equipment charge was for the modem, hmmmm thats interesting because I purchased the modem at Staples, I explained this and also that my account had been shut off 2 months prior. So after about 20 minutes of dealing with the rep treating my like a complete idiot and using very condasending tones they tell me that they will get back to me on this, in other words the rep did not have a clue of whats going on and with my experience working there they will never get back to you. So I proceed to ask to speak with thier supervisor. She tells me that there is no supervisor above her that I can talk to. Well from working there I know every team has a supervisor on hand, I tell her this and she still denies me. I then go on to threaten a call the the CRTC and Better Business Beureu and wow I have a supervisor on the phone on less than a minute, (remember this). Well right away he tells me that something is wrong and that I will receive full credit for this charge.

Now the interesting thing about this is they are probably sending these extra bills out all the time and especially elderly people will not understand the techno double speach they use to confuse you when you call in. These people probably just go on to pay the bill. The way I see it Telus is probably making millions extra a year just from this alone.

Keep up the blog, I will be checking back, bout time someone did this.

Down with the evil telus regime.

Gravatar GREAT site. I hope you don't mind, but I wish to add your blog link to my journal entry against TELUS today.
If you have concerns regarding this, please let me know via email.

Blogging is a great way to meet the people "of the underground" here in the Lower Mainland that I never knew existed. Good to meet you too. Thanks for the great blog.

Gravatar A number of automated systems have an interesting feature on their voice recognition systems - it can identify your frustration. Seriously. I believe it was BC Hydro that I was getting fed up with, and eventually hollered a four letter word for fornication into the reciever and was immediately connected to a service rep - who admitted to me that there was a function in the software that helped them avoid customer loss by giving frustrated customers an immeditate jump to the front of the queue. Of course this sort of technology will be totally useless once the word gets around...

Gravatar I recently wrote a synopsis of what it is like talking to telus' automated voice CSR... after reading your woes, it seemed appropriate to share it with you:

Gravatar Being a FORMER EMPLOYEE, IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE WITH THE PHONE IVR, AND THEN THE REP. I used to work there, and I am sure it6t was not intentional. Being that I no longer work for them, I can understand why you'd be upset.

Good luck in your quest!

Gravatar I have a Telus nightmare of my own at this address:

Telus Mobility Review

In my opinion they robbed me for over $700 dollars!
