I'm doing some research on this myself. A DNA testing lab in Texas has been advertising on the radio about their paternity tests and are promoting test results in 3 days, or the test is free.
I think their test is about the same cost - $500. I'm thiking about gettting a test from them.

Why is it that there are things that would help people, and we try to get ever last cent out of it that we can. DNA tests are something that would benefit a lot of people, but how are they going to afford it. At 200 dollars a time, some of these people look at it as a lost cause. There are some people out there that 200 dollars means feeding their child or not. The same child that the DNA test was suppose to be meant for. I have seen family’s pulled apart over the question of father of a child. Either the father did not believe the child was theirs and left, or the father did not want anything to do with them and would refuse to pay money to help they child. Why not try to make these more available to people that are in need of these?
DNA testing has become a great source of truth for most people and families. It has the power to break and create homes. It is the only light in the dark and the only truth amidst an ocean of lies. For this reason, DNA testing has been made expensive so that only few people can afford it. Because of its price, it will not be easy for scumbags to afford it.
