Charlie...yeah, i know. There's part of me that squirms at the idea of a natal woman playing that role, because you know...it might be nice if we got to tell our own stories for a change...

Then again, i can't say i left brokeback really caring if Heath and Jake sleep with men in their private lives. But guys, if you do... Call me?

I guess I just figure that some level of appropriation is inevitable, but feel free to gripe about it anyways. Or were your objections elsewhere?

You make a good point about how setting the story in the 60's distances the story from many issues important to the GLBT community and from the audience. 1963 isn't so far away from 1969 though...
