I live outside of Rockport, (Lamar) next to a ranch with whooping cranes on the bayfront. They come up to their house to feed, and are right across the fence line from us. In the morning and a lot of times during the day I can hear them whooping it up over there. There are also sandhills who have a much more musical voice. We can't see them because of the woods but we do go over sometimes. It's really great to live hear in the wintertime.
