Um, actually, they called the British first, not America, and it was the BRITISH remote-control submersible that actually freed the trapped Russian midget sub, not the American efforts. So they can thank the Americans for doing a little to HELP, and thank the BRITISH for actually saving the situation. It was pretty nice to see America get upstaged by someone else though.
