FYI - Altitude Sickness can occur at any elevation above 8000 feet.

I had no idea Mt. Fuji was so commercialized. But, still, it's awesome that you got to the top. I hope you get up there again when it's sunny and clear.

It is pretty developed and commercialized but I would still recommend doing it! It's a lot of fun and Fuji is such a Japanese icon that you can't not do it. As for altitude sickness, I don't think you can die of it on Fuji but I had a horrible headache the entire time so it's not something to take lightly (as I did).
