Thanks for this. Its hard to make sense of all the shit this lot at the nta and government are sending out at the moment. I hate what is happening to my service and I hate what is happening to my clients. As we need to bring more and more people in to meet \"targets\" we have to spend less time with them. Then there are people who are just brought in through DIP because they're drunk and a bit coked up. They don't want a service and they don't have a drug problem but we still have to see them. I now have to offer my clients the chance to detox every week and tick off that they have rejected it. If they accept it I have to bring them in for a new assessment, then offer them community detox. If they refuse/pull out/ relapse, they go back on dailies - regardless of whether they've had a break in script. This is so shitty I can't believe I'm doing it. Sorry for the rant but I feel better for that. E

$\"Gravatar\"$ This will help some of my clients in particular those who are having to lie to the dole in order to get their benefits and come here (we run a day programme). Its hard because they can't go on the sick but they have to fullfill the jobseeking requirements and so they get forced to lie. At least the treatment allowance will mean they no longer have to do this. I'm worried about the time I'm going to spend filling forms in though - looks like DIP plus! Em
