Sadly, like Ward Churchill, I expect Finkelstein will make more money out on a speaking circuit for the like-minded and no doubt come out with a book detailing how he was persecuted and hounded out of academe.
As for the resignation, far more likely that he was facing an extremely unpleasant and public alternative if he didn't leave "of his own volition".
