I find this whole episode very frustrating. On the one hand, you have to wonder why we didn't coordinate with the corresponding Palestinian/Jordanian/Muslim authorities on this, in order to quash the whole notion that we have our sights set on Al Aqsa. On the other hand, there's the part of me that says, "well screw 'em. we won't fix the bridge, it will collapse, and they will learn the lesson the hard way." But of course, then we'd get blamed for not fixing it, so it really is a catch-22 of sorts. I'm so fed up with this crap! Sorry for the language...

McFee! (gently). That's the most unbiased BBC article about Israel I've ever read. It even mentions The Temple Mount is the holiest site in Judaism
and
Israel captured East Jerusalem in the 1967 war. Since then, the compound has remained under Muslim jurisdiction...
Those two facts alone make the "complaints" suspicious.

The one thing they might have mentioned is that after capturing the mount in 1967, Israel GAVE it BACK to the Muslims to administer, except for the Western Wall and the plaza in front of it.
No problem, greenmamba, the offending duplicate removed. And it's true - I was simply shocked by this balanced BBC article. They did not have it in them to say that the whole brouhaha is a Palestinian fabrication, but at least they have not supported it.
Probable a Mossad agent was squeezing some painful part of the author during the writing...
I went there yesterday to take (and post) some pictures and see what all the excitement was about.
