As an expat Scot living in London, I haven't been to Edinburgh for a while. But has the Jolly Judge moved? When I lived above it, it was on the right of the Royal Mile as you go up it.

Martin.

Feck, you might be right.. (pun intended).

The only times I've been there I've staggered out late at night after one too many shandies...

I'll try to get there at some point. Are you still planning to go to Clare's Manchester one the previous weekend?

Hi Rob, we'll be there most of the day/evening/night if it's anything like the last couple.

Not going to Manchester as the finanaces don't allow it! Boo!!!

Count me in! I'm not sure what time i'll be there though - I have a nightshift thingie at 22:00, so will either be there mid-afternoon partaking in one or two shandies, or early evening, partaking in softer drinks!

Bah such a shame, as I was planning to wander along cept that this is the day before my birthday and I have things planned for that weekend. So have a good wun lads and lassies and hopefully see you at the next one!

I`ll cetainly try to make it!

Would a slightly road weary, intellectually starved american be welcome? I'll buy the first round.

Sure Sherree, it's a pub so feel free to pop by... mine's a Guinness.

Hope you're not wanting anything too intellectual though!

HI, thanks for visiting my blog and inviting me to the Blogmeet but don'tthink I can make it this time. Hope it goes well.

Thanks Gordon! As long as they have Stoli I'm happy.....and intellectual conversation could be percieved as most anything after a round or two.

Count me in for the fun an games... Oh, that's an idea... maybe we should have party games.

Change of plans that weekend so I may be able to come after all.

Yay Will!

Would love to be there. Had hoped to fly over from exile (in Ireland) but minor childcare crisis this week prevents me from doing so, sadly. Best wishes to all who make it there though and I'll try for the next time.

I'll try to get along as well.

Excellent. The more the merrier - spread the word!

I should be able to pop by in the afternoon for a few hours.
cheers
MK

Aiiee, I should be there. :-D

Hi,

sorry I can not make it as have to go to Manchester that weekend.
Sounds like fun and hopefully there will be another blog meeting soon.

Anybody of you podcasting as well...? It would be nice to have Scottish podcasting website, too!

cheerio Ulla

I'm podcasting a bit. I'll be there on Saturday evening (around 6pm?) after a hard day getting more teachers to blog. I don't know anyone so make yourselves look obvious: a laptop or two, or some truly geeky fashion should do the trick.

Ewan, it's not that big a pub, trust me. You'll find us!!

For anyone else: there is a private Flickr group - http://www.flickr.com/groups/sco...scotsblogsmeet/ - which you can join and post your photo on. Only members can see it, but it's a good way to pick out some faces. I'm on there, as is Steve and Richard who are both coming along.

Will try and make it along if I can get out of going to some other thing. In case I'm there early, Guiness is it?

if no one takes pictures of pints on my head, i'll come by for a bit.

Neil - Guinness it is!

Svetlana - sorry, can't make any promises... (you could, you know, NOT put pints on your head... although I can't remember why you did it last time...).

Looking forward to seeing you all!

Can we come too? We've just joined the blogosphere...

Of course you can, more than welcome. Come one, come all!

(er... but not ALL, or we'll need a bigger pub!)

Change of plan - we're going to be up in Ballater this w/e. It's my last free weekend for a bit so best to take the opportunity, especially as the weather looks as though it might be decent.

Have a good one, and I'll try and catch you some other time.

All -- my friend at the JJ told me there was a problem with the wifi setup on Wednesday. After some investigation, the line is fine, but the router is goosed and has to go back to Netgear for replacement. As such, there is no wifi at the JJ, unless someone can find a spare wireless router...

Sorry, if I'd known earlier it would have been under control by now.

As if by magic, two minutes after I posted this, a friend pitched up at my desk and asked if I knew anyone who wanted an ADSL wireless router. We should be fine for tomorrow!

Excellent. That MIGHT convince me to lug this behemoth of a laptop around Edinburgh for the day. Or it might not... hmmmm

Cool - I'm going to convince my non-blogging fiancé to come along, too. She's French and I reckon there's a few pints for the blogger that convinces her to come over to the Dark Side.
