I knew who made up this crowd as soon as I heard about what happened, and before I saw the pictures. It was obvious for anyone who pays attention and refuses to let taboo color their reality.
That being said, his death could have been prevented. I'm not necessarily blaming the employees, but why did they form a human chain to try and stop the rush? Is $7 an hour worth laying down your life for Wal-Mart? Why do underpaid employees take so much personal stock in their mother corporation's well being? They should have just gotten out of the way and let the mobs do their thing. They aren't Wal-Mart's bodyguards, and they're lucky only one of them died. It sounds like more of them almost got trampled as well.

Good to see you, Monster. I agree with your points. I also think the store should've supplied more security. According to the police, they didn't have enough.

But Wes, how many stores had such sales with no extra security? I cannot fault the store, it was the crowd.
All you have said does make it difficult to be "open minded" about associations. Some groups I can freely and openly associate with, some I cannot. Statistics is only part of that story, though too. Sadly, many of these people had dignity in poverty before "civil rights", now they just have poverty, greater crime, and a destroyed culture of destruction they cannot now escape, except the few who get hand outs... even to the presidency it seems.
Remember the Gaico commercials? So easy, even a ________ can do it. Foolishness. But what is worse is that rather than trying to raise everyone, public schools and government are actively trying to take us all to the lowest common denominator, for "equality purposes" or merely because the ignorant are easier to control, if not as a mob or regarding crime (which they don't seem to care about), through wealth manipulation. I have quit, for the most part, hoping for a "greater social good". I will simply try to live as rightly as I am able, singularly if need be, but hopefully there are still some out there with whom to share this with... somewhere.

You can't really blame a lot of the people in front because in mob situations, if you don't flow with the mob, you're going to get trampled. That's just a fact of life. Even if half of the people wanted to stop, they'd have created a new set of problems by doing that because of the people behind them.

Ebonomics: That wouldn't have happened if the store had those good bargains all the time.
